      I bought my first car Maruti Suzuki Swift ZXI last year in Jan 2014. Within a span of one year I have faced multiple problems with the car.

      During the first couple of months the sliding mechanism for the front driver seat broke and was repaired and then in the month of Feb 2014 they recalled my car to replace a faulty fuel pipe/cap which could have led to fuel leakage.

      I have been driving cars for more than 7 years and I rarely drive rashly. Over bad roads I make sure I slow down the car and drive carefully.

      After 8 months past I started noticing cracking sounds coming from the rear while I take turns or drive over bumps. So I decided to get the car checked with “Mandovi Motors” Service Bangalore. After a few minutes of investigation they came back and told that my car’s rear axle is broken and they will need to replace it. Luckily this happened while my warranty was valid and they told my warranty would cover it.

      I have started to regret the decision of buying this car. The built quality is very poor and being a Japanese designed car I thought it would be reliable as well. I am not sure whether Suzuki offers the same pitiable products elsewhere around the globe but my experience is very disappointing.

      Exterior The Sticker Job for the Windsong Limited Edition (WLE) on the sides is good. The Racing stripes do not give it a racer look as it was intended to. It does not even suit the design of the car. I removed them after the accident.  

      The car bumpers are terrible - Good for nothing. My Earlier Car "Chevy Spark" bumpers are 100% better in taking impact. Many Auto drivers and two wheelers rammed into Spark nothing happened. One Auto fellow rammed into the swift bumper. The bumper became shapeless. I miss the quality of the Spark in the Swift.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The Features list in the WLE is good "Not the Best".

      Music system: there is not much of bass effect in the speakers. Bluetooth connectivity for calling is good. However, not like the Zest/Bolt which can read out SMS. 

      Seat covers: Many People liked the seat covers for the design theme (Black with a touch of Yellow). However, the steering wheel cover seems to be stitched improperly.

      Reverse sensors: I don’t know why maruti did not give the Reverse Camera?

      Windows: when you drive with the windows half-way down they make sound like "Stone Cold Steve Austin -Shattered Glass music" Spark never had that problem. I drove the spark for 1,04,000+ kms.

      There is some kind of noise that comes out of the co-driver door. Not able to figure out from where.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

      Engine: Tried and Tested Fiat Multijet 1.3 L (1248cc) engine. No change there. One should appreciate FIAT for making such a perfect engine. If Maruti follows all guidelines that FIAT instructs them, that will be better (more on that later).

      Fuel Economy: 21+ KMPL in Hyderabad traffic conditions (Includes - approx. 60% Highway like Conditions and 40% City Traffic conditions). 

      Gearbox: Slick Gearbox. Precise Gearshift. But the Gearnob turns some 2-3 degrees approx. like a globe on a desk. I got to get that checked. However, I feel it is better than "Chevy Spark"

      Ride Quality & Handling I feel the ride quality is better than the Spark. R14 steel rims do a pretty good job. I removed the Wheelcaps.

      Handling: Precise. It goes where I want it to go.

      Final Words Ahh! Where do I start? This one will be lengthy, please give it a patient reading. I will start with the Showroom all the way to the functioning of the car till date which crossed 6500 Kms.

      The Showroom (RKS Saboo - Somajiguda) filled 45 Psi air in the tyres, something I could not believe. The first day Auto driver rammed into the back bumper at the left rear side and it crushed. I had to go to the local mechanic, heat it up and bring out the bumper to get it into shape. The brakes were not falling as expected. I thought because of ABS the car was behaving like that. Third day, I met with another accident. Xylo in front and Qualis at the back. Front and back bumper damaged completely - unrecognizable. After the repair work at Varun Motors, Nanakramguda. They could not align the back left side of the bumper properly in shape.

      I made the air pressure from 45 in cold condition in all five tyres to 38 in front and 34 at the back. The breaks started working excellently.

      Time came for the first service at 1000 kms. The service advisor said it will be good if a pollen air filter is fixed. I got that fixed. The car a/c was not effective. I later checked it and the filter was fixed upside down and added to that it was a used dirty filter. The air filter was also replaced as the manufacturing date did not match the date of other parts that were assembled. The mileage was poor. I bought the pollen and air filter separately outside from genuine Maruti authorized parts seller. The car mileage returned and the a/c is very effective now.

      The car temperature was fraction over the half way mark on the hotter side. I got the oil filter and oil change done at 5000 Kms though maruti says 10000 kms. After the oil change the engine temperature is about the half way mark, no matter how long I drive it. FIAT gave clear instructions to maruti that only "fully synthetic engine oils should be used in the engine". But the service center put semi synthetic Castrol magnatec oil.

      IMP: The grade of oil has changed from 5W40 to 5W30 in the 2015 Swift. The service center manager said he will put only 5w40 though 5w30 is instructed in the manual. I went to corporate office in himayatnagar Stanza building and got approval that 5W30 can be put in the engine.

      TIP: Please make sure when oil change, they use 5W30 fully synthetic oil. The brands that are approved by maruti are (Total, Shell, Castrol, and Mobil 1) please buy cans of 3.1 liters and ask them to replace the oil. If the dealership service centers refuse to do it. Then you can go to MASS (maruti authorized service station) they will for sure do it. Please get the oil change done in front of you (never trust a professional mechanic to do the job for you). Engine oil is like blood in the Human body.

      TIP: Never fill more air than required in the tyre. Please check that especially if you are picking it up as a brand new car from the showroom.

      Areas of improvement As mentioned earlier, maruti has to pick-up and give some quality like the German/American car companies on the exterior and in the interior as well. The overall quality of the fit and finish in the Spark is better than the Swift.

      Attention to detail is not given priority in the Swift and it shows.

      I have completed one year with the car and clocked 40335 Kms on 30/1/2016. The car is running good, but not without problems. I put Mobil 1 5W30 ESP Oil for the car. The car engine runs smooth. It climbs Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills with ease. It is fun to drive. At times, I get confused as to whether I am driving a Petrol or Diesel Car. The silencer is 99.7% free from soot. These are the positives.

      Now, let me write about the negatives.

      The last review, I did not do any highway drives. But after that I have done many highway drives. The car Internal Rear View Mirror (IRVM) is funnily stuck to the roof of the car. The car IRVM will start to vibrate after 100 Kms speed. One cannot see a clear, but only a Blurred image. This is very frustrating and annoying. Chevrolet Spark never had that problem.

       

      My Observation on this mirror issue: Every Car manufacturer in the world sticks the mirror to the front windscreen (including Rolls Royce and Bentley). I don’t know why Maruti has a Cheap Research and Development (R&D) department that do not learn to evolve. Off late, they have started placing the IRVM to the windscreen. I have seen that in Ciaz and Baleno. At least now they learnt and rectified their mistake.

      Exterior Awesome looking hatch in the country. No one to beat this.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Top variant equipped with Automatic Climate control, Bluetooth telephony, Height adjustable seats, Alloy wheels are awesome in the segment.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Smooth gearbox to handle, Rides smooth on any road, Fuel economy of 26.7 for me on highway.

      Ride Quality & Handling Superb.

      Areas of improvement Only concern is Boot space. Maruti Suzuki Awift is a great car on Indian Roads. It handles well rides well and easy to own. The maintenance of this car is very cheaper and thanks to Maruti for providing awesome after sales service through their wide network of service stations. The car has been drove for 2500 kms for now and have been receivinf great mileage which is astonishing. The ZDI variant comes with loaded features that are good to use and user friendly.

      Exterior is good & stylish 

      Space inside is adaquate & comfort level is fine. 

      Engine performance is okay. I went to Keral in Sep.2015 from Pune by this vehicle. Power & pickup was amazing & riding was enjoyable. Mileage was 20Km per lit on good road & 14 km per lit inside bad road Total agreegate was 17km per lit. Also in other trips of 500-600 km driving was comfortable. Considering comfort & power this mileage is okay but need to improve little. The problem in vision is right side thick pillar becomes obstacle for driver for right side vision. Need to improve this pillar. Also driver seat position also need to improve for clear vision of road especially for less ht. person like me. Seat ht position increase ot ht. adjustable provision.This vehicle is very good & it is Value for money.Road vision & pillar need to improve. Overall this vehicle is remarkablly good.

      I have been using this car since December 2014 . It's running at 1.4 lakh km. Great marathon performance with low maintenance. I purchased this car when I was single,on that time it fulfilled my all requirements, but now we have three members in my family. Now we feel about its low boot space which is not sufficient for us.       I had a CNG kit fitted on my new swift 2015 model from Maruti itself The car has been giving continuous problems from the day of delivery Every 15 days its been in out of the service centre Its not even 3 months and the car is not performing whether on CNG or petrol So after paying 720000 on the car I am stuck with it. Every time they give it to me after "fixing" the issue, the same problem starts after few days.I got the car back yesterday saying the issue is fixed, today morning as I drove the car it did not switch to cng for atleast 40 minutes of driving, pick up dropped significantly. As usual the MARUTI technicians picked it up and took it back to the service centre to fix the issue for the 7th time.My problem here is it is goin to happen again , the same way it did all these times and I'm stuck with this 7lakh piece of crap!

      The car was purchased in Nov 2016 through CSD from Pasco Gurgaon. Tyres fitted looked like used ones. The matter was brought to the notice of staff concerned who made excuse of driving car from godown to show room. The stypny kept iside is of MRF whereas all the rest of tyres are of other Co. it came to notice only when front driver side tyre busrt one midnight while driving in last week of Jun 2017.       Exterior Swift VXI follows classic hatchback exterior and has created milestone for any hatchback car design.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior looks gorgeous and front seats are so comfortable that you can travel few hundred kilometers wihout getting tired.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox MPFI performance is awesome. Good acceleration and milege with very less maintanence.

      Ride Quality & Handling Handling is good but could have been improvised by adding ABS in it.

      Final Words If you want car and are family of four members and want good milege car for city and highway ride and don't want high maintence, Go for SWIFT without thinking much. SWIFT carries legacy for past 10 years.

      Areas of improvement Can improvize on adding prime safety features like ABS and SRS air bag. Car inner space is not designed properly as if you are family of five members and want to go for longer ride say few hundred kilometers then it will not be comfortable for rear passengers. Though TOYOTA Etios liva is same segment car it has good space provides good comfort for rear seat passengers.

      Exterior ZDI version represents very good style because of alloy wheels.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) ZDI has better features than VDI. Automatic AC, Seat height Adjustment, Seat belt adujusters, Back Wiper, Bluetooh Audio and Phone controls, Steering controls, Parking Sensors, Safety Air Bags, ABS with EBD Braking, Extra head lamp,Boot Opener, Key less entry(Most people think they need key for safety. But keyless entry is safest and Provided Key if any failure in keyless entry as an optional).

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Performance is good, Best Mileage 24kmpl on highway(80 - 120 kms speed) and 21 in city.I have seen this figures with in 5000 kms. No issues for rider for long journey.

      Ride Quality & Handling Best Ride Quality. Very assuring steering, gives more confidence to driver.(No one can beat swift and VW polo in this 7 to 10.5 lkh price segment).

      Final Words Best Vehicle for Middile class family.

      Areas of improvement All say that had less boot space. So they have to think before getting Swift. I did not have issue with Boot. We can load 2 medium travel breif case and some more bags. If you want to carry big bags you can fold the back seats in 60: 40 ratio. It is best for small family of 5 people.

      Exterior is good but it is not as exciting or as funky as the Baleno Interior is good and the plastics are good as well but the dashboard plastic is soiling easily.

      Engine is very good, refienmet levels are pretty good the gear box is very accurate and it has a very good pick up as well.

      Ride quality is good but you can feel those potholes entering the cabin and the suspension does not make any noise. The best thing of this car is the brakes, the disc brakes in front catches the brakes very well you can actually come to standstill from80 to 0 in just 5 seconds.

      The only thing I have to sa about this car is it is an awesome product and a very good value for money product and since it is from the house of MARUTI after sales service will be very good.

      The ares of improvement of this car is the boot space the boot space is really small if compared with the other products in the market and the legroom in the backseat.

      After sales service, Ground clearence, ACNot Spacious, Not big boot, Fuel economy it gives around 12 to 13 kmpl
