Exterior
Looks can be appealing but think twice before going for it.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Features - Ok with it.
Space - Strictly for 5.5 and not more than that height or you might feel uncomfortable.
Comfort - This is where maruti should look into. Comfortwise it is very bad. If you are travelling more than 50 kms in it, your spine + body will have pain. Seat erogonimcs needs to be worked on. Come on maruthi wake up....
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Performance is adequate when a/c is switch off. Once full 5 persons on board the gearbox needs to be work on and you will feel engine loses it breath once past 80. Body roll is very much evident in taking twist and turns at all speeds.
Fuel Economy - A decent 10 - 15 with a/c on with two members on board.
Gearbox works the job alloted to it.
Ride Quality & Handling
Ride Quality - Ok with Apollo tyres but loses grip once past 80 Kmph.
Handling - As the speeds gains you might feel nervous at high speeds. The steering will change to any direction once you take your hand out of it.
Final Words
It the grand nanny for Maruthi and most of the Indians in their family. Best is suited for city driving and occassional family outing. Drive with caution as it would not make you win any race.
Areas of improvement
Low score on crash test needs to be improved.
A/c for second row needs to be improved.
Head room and leg room should has to be increased.

ride of city is nice , and awesome but for long liittle conjusted because of seat , in front and rear in front seat is to short for driver not feel comfort in long ,, and in rear it is small bacause thhere is not an thigh lenght seat that make comfortable

Exterior Not toooo attractive, but batter than older one.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Gear box is noisy and heave, placed too far from left hand not comfirtable like other cars like: i10 or Ritz etc. Engine lags and realy become dumb on AC specially during summers. 10 out of 10 in fule efficiency and milage.
Ride Quality & Handling Quite good and comfirtable. LXi is the best to choose.
Final Words Overall. value for money, CnG lags in power but really a superb money saver. We can plan long trips without hazitation only because of CnG with good good average. This is my first car, but found Eon have little less space but seats are more comfirtable. So as compair to Eon, this car have more space but less comfirt. Have more fule efficiency but less style. So Alto saves your money more.
Areas of improvement Gear box. Placement could be batter and it should be more soft. Really only 1 out of 10.

Final Words
It has been 7 months that I own this car. Review would depend on what you are looking for :) For me the selecting criteria was mileage. I own the CNG version and I am very happy with my decision of buying the car. Initially I used to barely touch 200km for 8kg of CNG (Used to be between 180 and 200Km). Mileage of around 22 for CNG. The car has now run ~11000 and I get a mileage of 30 Km/KG. I fill the tank with ~78KG of fuel and it runs ~240Kms. Now if you look at the running cost it comes down to Rs. 1.33/Km, which is quite commendable. Here, I would like to point out that I usually drive on roads with less traffic (Noida Expressway) and I have not tested the car much with AC running. Did not require it in winters. I assume the mileage would be reduced by 2Km with running AC and by 3-4 Kms when in traffic and AC. Cons- No music system even in the top variant, which is something the company could have definitely included. Furthermore, suspension is not top notch. However, it is asking too much from a car at this price. Overall I am quite satisfied.

Music system should be included. Would have suggested better suspension, but it is asking too much at the price :)

I have brought this car from TRI city auto, punjab 12th october 2014. Thanks to Mr.Shiv represter of the TRI City auto. They provide me good service after sale with Genuine parts and never mis guide.
Its give approx 20kmpl average in the city and my paid 2000/Rs in a month for petrol, that's ok to me for daily office travel up & down 12 km.Service quality after sale is good and resale value excellent.
This is my second car from maruti and in future I have buy only maruti car. Beacuse Legend is only one and other try to copy them.

Engine is soo good,mileage around upto 20 with A/C 22 with non- ac.not bad.but if we on ac it takes slow pickup brakes are noy powerfull like swift or k10.small segment but it is in petrol version.if it comes in diesel version no one can beat the car. It tops in all cars.

Finally i want to say it is best car but for city purpose not for long drives.in long drive our back bone pains the seat arrangement is not perfect.we cant go long drives.lights are well but not space for luggage.

In starting while we buy a new alto 800 it gives mileage upto 15- 20 after 10000-15000 kms,we drive it gives around 20-25 good performance after 10000 kms .nice car

Exterior: I felt Eon and Kwid more apppealing(looks) but 'Appearances are often deceptive'. Alto 800 2016 has improved a lot in looks. I chose Alto 800 as Practicality was the prime concern. I added crome so that it looked better.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The 796cc car is for small trips hence boot space is sufficient. If one knows the art of packing the luggage, space is enough(need good bags-like American tourister,sky). I fold the rear seat and could carry coconuts(around 70) :-)
Boot space, storage and features are better in Eon and Kwid. But car is for commuting and in that Alto 800 is the best.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Suspension is good; gear shift are smooth; It has a decent fuel economy 18-20kpl.
Ride Quality & Handling: The Car to run primarily on roads and carry 4-5 passengers. Good handling. steering is responsive, good ride quality. During rany season in the bad streches of roads the low graound clearance was a clearance(also in hill areas). In the over all driving experience found ALTO 800 the BEST choice in the price range.
Final Words IF LOOKS, boot space is the focus this is not the choice. But for me car was for transporting people without spending much on it. It is a reliable car and the spare parts availabilty, cost of ownership makes it a better package. Car(any) can't be said as a an asset(in true sence); Alto 800 has least depreciation over the years.
Areas of improvement More luggage space 200l minimum,increase internal storage(1 or 2 bottle holders), increase ground clarance.
