Exterior This car is definitely a great improvement over the old Alto. The front side looks more like a sedan than a hatchback. The rear part is, however, a let down with unimaginative design. Maruti should have designed the rear with a lil more agggression.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Same old dashboard with new steering and seating for a change.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I beleive that the K series engine is the biggest draw in this car. Driving this engine gives a sense of power unlike the old Alto which was used to dragging. As mine is a new car the average as per my estimates is in the range of 12-13 km/l. but it will hopefully improve with servicing and usage. The gearbox although much improved feels a lil vague. .it's a feeling only I got as my friends thought it to be fine. The steering lacks power at high speeds. could be due to the fact that many say it is 'under tyred'..but I am not sure as I am not an expert.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride is smooth with this car handling decent undulations with ease. At this price range one couldnt expect any better. comparing it with swift or any other high range model would be unjustifiable. It is great city car. however, on the highways surrounded by speeding trucks, MUVs and SUVs, one could feel a lil bit unsafe.
However, keeping aside every sore point, it is undoubtedly one of the finest cars to have come out of the Maruti stable. For a first time buyer like me it is definitely a great buy!
