The vehicle has got too many Electronic gizmos when you compare with other vehicles, but poor reliability , low quality plastics. its not consistent that things will work when you need it. Having spent hard earned money 16 lacs , i regret today. External Looks - good Engine - good , Brakes - Grinding noise on the first 1000 km's itself. uncomfortable feel to apply brakes. Air Conditioner - Huge noise from the blower After sales service - Worst , Dealerships are not trained and not equipped to handle customer of this class.
Reaching Mahindra - Himalayan Task, cannot reach anyone of them , you can reach the dealer service centers, where you will get no results.
you will get sweet words and literatures talking about Mahindra and their service policy . All are utter waste , nobody will respond from Mahindra. they claim five ways to reach Mahindra, resolution or reply within 6 hours of your call. waste of time, call centre, email - even after 7 days no response , no acknowledgment, no reply no resolution, ( have proof ).you can expect a Government office response from them, Since you are not accessible to Mahindra , Dealers are at their discretionary to decide about your warranty claims.
I have driven 5200 Km's as of now. within three months , my brakes are with grinding noise after so much of request to the dealer executive , got it replaced at his grace. Now the doors are getting fouled with front fender assembly, which i have made a complaint with Mahindra on Toll Free, where they committed to arrange a call back within 6 hours. even after repeated reminders to the same toll free numbers, nobody had called, sent emails on the brake problem before 7 days, no response from mahindra.
But on website, you will have so much of assurance on customer care even you get President's email id , but there will be no response from them.
The vehicle is being tried and experimented at the customers money. Meantime commercially every dealer is enjoying their profits at no costs. Trying to capitalize and make money on defects and warranty claims too.
Time is not very much for away for mahindra to get its rewards for their irresponsible attitude towards customer care.

Please donot reduce ground clearence to 160mm. nobody will prefer to buy for Indian road.

Take back your decision of reducing Gnd.Clearence.you are going to stop everybody's dream. i say forget Northern,Eastern and North-East India even other parts of Indian road will not support for Gnd.Cl. of 160mm. You may keep gnd cl. of 180-190mm. let the price be reduced to somewhere rs.15000 to 20000 and adjust the clearance based on this. so much of low clearance is good for Sedan but not for C/D segment SUV vehicle. As I have noted it in the paper and internet i would like to ask M&M please tell me on what basis you are going to reduce the clearance? is it only to reduce cost or due to some technical issues, because in doing so you may be mitaken which is not exactly known to you right now but may appear in the near future.

October 2016: Purchased a Mahindra XUV500
November 2016: Rear wheel, axle and suspension breaks while vehicle is in motion on NH4 (National Highway 4 : approx 50 kms fromKolhapur). The vehicle spins out of control and jumps onto the opposite lane into oncoming traffic. Miraculously nobody was hurt. The vehicle is taken to Kolhapur Service Station for investigation. (can’t mention the 7 hour ordeal we went through to get the tow truck sent by Mahindra 24/7 Road Assistance – their tag line is “With you hamesha”)
December 2016: Investigation is still in progress.
January 2017: Investigation is still in progress after more than 45 days.
Received a response from Mahindra stating: “our team has observed, nail pierced in the rear right tyre. Thus slow air loss started from tyre causing spinning of the vehicle. Due to high momentum, vehicle banged on the road separator & jumped over the same. Hope this information is adequate to answer your query.” And they call this a SUV and claim that its built to withstand a rocky terrain, off road vehicle, good for mountain expeditions, etc. How does slow air loss in the tyre cause vehicles to spin??? Really, how???
I have been asking them for a detailed report of the investigation but even today I have been told that this one liner is all they can provide but they will try to get the report from their R&D Team.
I sent them pictures of the vehicle at the time of the accident. There was absolutely no impact of any kind and no dents. There was no road separator or rocks that the vehicle banged into.
I am asked to approve my insurance for repairs to start – Total cost Rs.2 Lakhs – insurance will cover Rs.1.5 Lakhs and the rest will go out of my pocket.
The vehicle is still with the company and I am paying EMI’s for it. Investigation is carried on at my expense. Great going Mahindra! Live young, live free!

This communication is regarding poor performance or faulty vehicle of Mahindra XUV 500. I had purchased Mahindra XUV 500 on 28/05/2012. This vehicle was required to be sent for repair every week or in 15 days. This vehicle is in warranty. Many time guy from dealership came and took the vehicle by Crain. I had called customer service several times. Unfortunately, there was no satisfactory response from customer service. I was also told that my personal relationship manager, Mr. Sunil Rathor form Shiv Automobiles, Ghaziabad. Still, there was no favourable response.
My car took by Shi Durga Automobiles, 55, Rama Road, N Delhi on 28 May 2014 form Hotel Maurya Sheraton, New Delhi and delivery date is 29th May 2014 but I did not received vehicle and dealership not pick up my phone. I do not know where is my car?
I was receiving calls from customer care to know my satisfaction level about my vehicle. How could I tell them about my satisfaction level when I was running here and there to receive my vehicle?
I’m hugely disappointed and cursing my decision to buy Mahindra vehicle. I’m losing my sleep over my bad decision. This case has caused me huge depression and increased blood pressure. Even my family is repenting over this decision of buying Mahindra vehicle. I also loose my business due to vehicle around Rs. 50lacs. I’m also contemplating taking legal action against Mahindra after consulting lawyers.
Experience of after sales service and maintenance of Mahindra, I have decided to not to buy Mahindra vehicle again in my life and also desist others from buying. After warranty I do not tolerate the running cost of this vehicle.
I’m less than hopeful that you would pay due attention to my grievances. Kindly return my money I do not need this vehicle.

Exterior Looks nice in white, but the front grille looks cheap and overall downgrades the front styling. Headlights looks great.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Great features inside, space is nice for 1st and 2nd row, but the last row is very uncomfortable.Suspension gives a bit stiff ride on bumpy roads.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Nice peppy engine even better than scorpio. nice fuel economy quoted.
Final Words Overall a nice car, but I feel that should wait a while for the minor glitches to be taken care of.
Areas of improvemel Recently I visited premier motors in dehradun in hope to see the new XUV,and the attitude of these people shocked me. Noone was ready to tell abt the car. No brochure, no proper treatment to customers. they should atleast attend their customers properly. I've decided because of this behaviour of these ppl to not to opt for any mahindra model. if this is the attitude b4 purchasing the car what will be the attitude after buying the car. Mahindra management pls have a look into the dehradun dealership.

Final Words In this price you will not find any car because this suv given so many function and luxsury that no one can give driving expirience is superab I am using it last one year there is no problem. 3 times I had gone 600 K.M approx in a day there is no problem. Just get it
Previous I thought I will buy fortuner then after I had taken 3 test drive then I realise why should I pay more money when fortuner didnt give so many luxury then xuv 500 given.
Now I tell you I had taken right decision. if some one compaire any other suv means bmw or audi then dear I tell you if you have money then you will buy anything but I am telling No one todays date can give you so many things in this price.

Mahindra XUV 5OO is means to deceive the public that it is a premium SUV. The vehicle has a very poor electronic package installed in it. The electronics will fail within a few weeks of using the vehicle. The after sales service and the authorized dealer (Bhasin Motors Delhi) are ill equipped and incompetent to respond to the consumer's grievances.
My Mahindra XUV 5OO W8 met with an accident on 6.01.2013. It has been in the workshop eversince as Mahindra and Bhasin are not able to repair it. Moreover, the airbags are a sham as none of them ever deployed during the accident. The company is deceiving the public by marketing it as a premium SUV with superior safety features, whereas, none exist.
I had purchased the vehicle in May 2012. The XUV had a series of electronic failures during the first few feeks of usage. The wipers stopped working. Thereafter the brakes were completely worn out by the 2nd month. I only use the vehicle for city driving. Then the overhead glass ware compartment began geeting filled with water as the water used to seep in from some crevices. The headlisghts ceased to function by the 4th month. The fuse was blown.
The entire experince has been nothing short of a night mare and I would sincerly urge any potential Mahindra purchasers that they should refrain from purchasing the junk and spend their valuable money on a more rewarding vehicle.

Exterior Front edge rocks to the core and rear could hv been more better seems like a mini xylo frm behind.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Excelent, front and middle rows are great to hop in and out but a problem for the third row passengers !! :(
