Exterior Exterior is very rounded curved design which is very attractive when compared to some of the worst maruti designs, even recent came out version..Maruti Alto K10, I feel pity on Maruti to see their model making for Alto.
Alto is a tall boy, with sufficient lenght, breadth and height, which is designed to sit for any kind of person.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is better when compared to other low class vehicles like, maruti 800 and maruti alto. Howver it should be been improved a little more. like the dash board should be designed in sophisticated and rounded shape, where it should give mor space for keeping things, and looks attractive. Space is very good in satro in the front and back. Comfort is excellent.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance with and with out AC there is no downward inclination for the engine.Everytime the engine performs very well. Gear box is one perfect when compared to maruti vehicles. it very smooth on all the gears. Fuel economy, when compared to its power which delivers..its excellent.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is excellent, i could take a speed of 125km perr hour, with out any stuggles. Only thing is the road should be good and well to drive. And with the power steering, its excellent to have a long drives and city drives alike.
Final Words Over all its the best in class vehicle, which is delivered by smart hyundai.
Areas of improvement Need to modify the dashboard to little more stylish, need to adjust the steering little closer to the dash board, rather than projecting to the face of the driver.
Otherwise, no other comments.

Santro Zip drive is best with 1 Lit engine.Performance is excellent.Ride & handling is extremly good in city.
Maneovurability is excellent.Easy to drive & very good control.
I am confident that however I use this vehicle,no issue with vehicle & I can never meet with accident on this vehicle.
I am using this car for last 5 years & overall the car is 9 years old.I am extremely happy with this car.
Although I bought Logan diesel as new car,I love to drive in my Santro especially in city.

I bought santro erlx on july 2007. everything went well. i was offered extended 3rd and 4th year warranty at the time of booking by susee hyundai vellore. after 2 years aroud 12000 km i had autogaz lpg retrofitment with an advanced sequential injiction plg kit after 6 months of review from various customers. i had good performance until 32000kms. on june 2010 i had a drop in pickup with ac. i was told by dealer clutch plate may be weak and needs change by dealer and hence did it for 6000rs. problem persisted. our elative told that timing pully belt may be weak. again i went to dealer and asked them to look in to that matter. after one and half days in workshop they called me to come workshop and told me that crankshaft was eroded mildly at a place where tming pully is fitted and it is an isolated problem. they told since i had fitted lpg my warranty expired. when i enquired many they said it is a unique problem occuring in many cars in santro from 40000kms to 70000kms to have such issues. if there is problem with lpg piston and engine would have problem first than crankshaft. then i decided to service my car at chennai with warranty and asked dealer to return in running condition and they did some local work and delivered in running condition. at the time of delivery they told that they have missed my extended warranty to register with company. i was shocked and fought with them and provided quotation and warranty registration form copy. after that i went to customer care and talked to regional office chennai. after 10 days they came down on dealer and Md of dealer agreed to repair the crankshaft under warranty saying his staff have committed mistake in failing to register warranty. now they have asked me to remove kit and i should not use it for next 13 months until warranty expires. still i have not finished repair. now after reading many articles in web i know this crank shaft fails in all santro cars but only kms vary. some as early as 18000km to 70000km. the problem starts with drop in pickup with ac and timing pully worn out with crankshaft wearing out which requires crankshaft change and engine works to some extent casting 20000 rs to 30000rs minimum in all cases. many customers are not ware of this issue before buying like me. i would give thorough detail once my repair works are over. Hyundai company sells and forgets customers. all santro owners please look for aat what km your pickup with ac drops and report to company and websites like this about their problem. we may go for replacement of engines by a legal suit on the company for selling a defective product in indian market. how to sort out this issue.

Great car to drive, handles well even at 120kmph. One of the best things about this car is that it can accommodate any driver - tall or short. For example, I, being relatively short have to pull the seat fully forward and my knees go comfortably under the dashboard - not so with some other cars where the knees touch the dashboard if the seat is fully forward. In all a great thing for short drivers.
Next is the gear shift - this is the best of all cars I have driven. It has a nice positive feel to it and you can almost feel the stick click into place while changing gears.
Another plus is its reliability - I have never had major problems with it. Yes a fuse or relay here and there did become loose/faulty but I guess that's because the car is already 6+ years old. Another age related problem was the right driveshaft whose boot had worn causing the CV joints to start to fail - replacement was cheap and quick. Overall very reliable at least as far as the mechanical aspects are concerned - even truer if the car is new.
On the whole a good car to own, gives good mileage - mine gives 12-13 on city roads with AC on for about 20 mins daily, very little maintenance required - as long as the regular oil change and other consumables (brake pads, wiper water, coolant, etc) are taken care of. However the authorised service centres are not very helpful - more often than not they create more problems than they solve.

Because of this the engine heats up less and gets more life. Add to this the thin section low-friction piston rings reduce the mechanical load, plus wear and tear. During rapid acceleration, when more power is required, injectors are pulsed in groups of two at a time. At cruise, injectors sequentially deliver fuel to the cylinders as per the firing order,thereby delivering the best of mileage. Exterior Somehow I was never convinced with the quality of exterior.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I am not convinced with the quality of interior.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine and crank shaft are bad.
Ride Quality & Handling OK.
Final Words Go with Maruti which has trusted engine. I am now repenting for not having chosen Maruti.
Areas of improvement Crank Shaft and engine are defective in Santro. Crank Shaft for me broke after 40,000 Kms. I used to get my car serviced diligently every 3months. Hyundai has cheated Indian customers. I find that same happened to many other santro car owners. I think Indian govt. should penalize Hyundai and bar them from doing buissness in India.
I think my bill will come to some Rs 35,000. I am repenting why did i go for Hyundai cars. Given their crank shaft and engine has problem. This problem will be persisiting in all their models. Be very careful in choosing your car.
