Dear all, I am a owner of Verna disel model SX(O) 2103 August model, I bought this vehicle considering the features it offer and brand name, however while actually using a car in Delhi NcR city conditions, I found that the car is automatically heavly acceralated due to high torque and as a result you need to control the vehicle by using clutch and brake pedal most of the time in peak hours, this resulted in completely damaging the clutch plate of my vehicle just after 15000 kms of running, on complailing the issue with Safdarjang Hyundai, they tried to repair the same by doing bleeding of clucth but no awail, within few kms of running the issue again crop up with clutch becoming excessively hard and creating problem in gear shifting, finally I have to shell Rs 15000 for replecement of clutch plates with no guarantee and warranty as how much this will last as Hyundai consider wear n tear of clutch plate as consumables and not covered under any waaranty. Looking into the drivinv conditions of Delhi-NCR, I suspect that I may need to do this again after another 10-15000 kms and it will be a never ending story till I own this car.
Ride Quality & Handling On Actual usage of vehicle , I found thar the road grip of tyres are not at all good and vehicle staring shaking at a speed of just 90-100 kms/hour , it is near impossible to drive the vehicle in that speed range as you tend to loowe the control of vehicle , on the other hand I also owe grand i10 petrol which is very smooth and stable at 100 kms/hr speed in city roads
Final Words If your intended use of vehicle is driving on a highways which is relatively congestion free, this is a good and comfortable vehicle, but if your intention is to drive in city conditions on a daily basis, think twice before purchasing this high cost car, as Hyundai is not cheaper in comparison to other contemporary manufaturers who deliver the same or better vehicle at cheaper rates, consider buying Volkswagon Vento or Honda City diesel.

Exterior Premium and good quality interior as compared to the competition (including new Honda City)
the body material and front and rear bumpers are too weak to survive even a little thrust from a two wheeler.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good, the rear seats are not at all comfortable and quite low
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Pick up is excellent but clutch get harder day by day.. my first change pf clutch happened in 10000kms. This has come up again at 16000 kms. Breaks are good but the pads get worn out fast.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is good at lower speed
Final Words Will not recommend.
Areas of improvement I found even tata cars clutch to be more better than the one in Hyundai. Its unfortunate with so many posts on the web and complaints the company has done nothing to improve this. The same is the case with the suspension. My advise would be please build cars for Indian roads.
Should have included cruise control.

Exterior
I liked the front grill the most and looks much better than that of New Honda City with broad chrome grill .
The look of body is sturdy from a distance - it gains height as you go back and gives a feeling of a fast car fluid dynamics .
The fine horizontal cut in the front that separates the bonnet is very appealing .
The projector lamps are good - the light spread broadens when in narrow street or side rails ..very nice feature.
I love the star dust color that I have .
Broad wheels are good and shows power.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
The front is very spacy - the seat is a bit lower and less of under thigh support . in driver seat, this gets adjusted by height setting but not so in co pilot seat .
Beige finish is appealing & with wooden a the music system is quite forward .
The steering is super smooth at low speeds and gets tight as you gain speed - obviously for better steering control .
The material finish is top class quality .
The foot pedal rest is there where needed .
The car is super silent even with engine on and I think this is the best part . At times , I had to see the dashboard whether engine is on or not .
the press key for ignition is on the wrong side- it should have been on right side instead of left side . At times, my kid sitting on co pilot seat pressed it for fun but it is fatal if the car is running . HYUNDAI please take care of this part if you are listening.
The rear view display is good and easey to park. I have started facing problem as at times the display doesnt switch on when i do reverse gear . i had to restart the engine to get this back . Have shown to dealer though and they say it coul dbe because of mositure during monsoon .
The dimmer on rear view is good and avoids glare of head lamps coming behind .

This is a real BEAST - sheer power and silent .
Here the Verna is absolute winner by miles . The pick up and the ease with which it accelerates is incredible .
I had been on highway and there was not a car that i had not taken over in falsh of a second.
At gear 2 or gear 3, you press the pedal and you experience a thrust as if you are sitting in aeroplane and taking off . Even at speed of 80 kmph, i have over taken at ease . Just press the pedal a bit extra and the job is done . Even at high speeds, there is hardly any noise inside .
I drove on hills and had very good control all through . In sharp up hill, I only had to ensure to keep running at good rpm ( 3000 plus ) and your job is done .
Gear shifts are smooth and throw is decent . I could control with elbow on arm rest all through .
The controls on steering are good . May be you could have added voice command like Zest has done.
Blue tooth functionality is very good .
Brake are quite powerful though you may not feel like when you are pressing .
Fuel economy - 12kmph in city ( considering bad traffice of gurgaon, not the real ones ) and 16.4 kmph on highway . I tried another setting and was getting 18.6 kmph - drive at 1750 rpm and speed of 50 on 5th gear )
Ride Quality & Handling
suspension is decent . On hills and mountains, i had no problem maneovouring over and over taking . At turns, I felt better control on car during acceleartion or during braking .
The SCARY part is the car feels like a floating boat at speed of 120 kmph. Till 110, I felt in complete control on steering but as the speed increased , i was not comfortable at all - sometimes it felt car is slowly drifting towards left and then slowly towards right when you steer a bit . HYUNDAI, What is the solution or explanation. The dealer hasnt been able to explain though.
Final Words
I bought this after lot of research and thought.But the driving experience made all the difference. Very comfortable and relaxed drive experience . Even after jam of 2 hrs, I was not tired . Had it been indica, i would be having cramps in my legs.

rear seat space is very less for person like me .
under thigh support is required in seats.
Igntion press switch should be on right side .
at speed of 120 kmph and above, it feels like boat and difficult to control . It is SCARY . Hyundai , Please suggest what can be done here , I love to drive and this is a demotivator .

Exterior The style of the car is best in its segment,it looks like a premium car.

Ride Quality & Handling Riding quality is best and handling is also the best,the pickup and speed is best in its segment.
Final Words The car is best in segment,i also have a honda city but i always prefer to ride my new 4s fluidic verna as it is good in all things.if you are confused between city and new verna then you should go for the new verna.city include a rear ac vent which lacks in verna but practically the rear ac vent is of no use as the ac of verna is more powerful than city,it cools faster then the city,i have both cars so expressing my words with you so that you dont confuse while buying the car in this segment.

Exterior Verna is the most stylish car in its segment. Both exteriors and interiors are just superbly desingned and look beautiful and elegant. The dash board is amazing and the who cabin gives a great welcoming feeling.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Verna is by far the best car in terms of features, space and comfort. It has loads of features including an awesome music system, supercool AC and a whole list of features.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox One of my key criteria of byuing a car was engine performance. I am an enthusiast driver and wanted a peppy engine which is a cut above rest. I test drove almost every car available in India in the price range of 7-13 lakhs and found Verna to be 'my ind of car'. I drive 1.6 Diesel engine and it is so fast and peppy yet so quite. It zooms past any other car in a second. The balance of the car at high speeds is amasing and the engine feels effortless even at speeds of 140+. I have driven around 5K kms and my car is giving me 20 kms on highway and around 15-16 km in the city with the AC on which is quite commendable. The gearbox is smoot and gear shifts are crisp. Overall, I am glad that I chose Verna over Ecosport, City, Sunny, Rapid, Vento, Ciaz, Duster etc.
Ride Quality & Handling Amazing ride quality. I just dont feel like getting out of the car. But really, it is an amazing care. Worth spending 11+ lakhs of your hard earned money.
Final Words Go test drive a Verna today, I am sure a driving enthusiast will instantly fall in love with the car. It is fast, it is elegant, it is spacious, it is beautiful and it is Stable at high speeds. Go for it !!

Exterior Great Looks..projector headlamps, Great Front look..led tail lamps and bumper. Fog lamps a plus. White colour looks superb. cannot ask for anything more. alloy wheels classy
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Feel like best in class..good blue light illuminationn, wooden finish. Sun glass holder. electroic ovrms. Foot rest is always needy. Auto a/c is best in class. looks are great.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good pickup 1.6 variant, fuel economy havent drive much to complain gearbox doesnt sound much.
Ride Quality & Handling Great..Suspension is much better..good for highway for sure..will know more once i drive more. handling is good. better than previous version.

Areas of improvement Should have given disc brakes on back tyres..ground clearance is 165. need to increase the same. Rear Ac vents not that imp but still needy at times.
