My FORD Ikon 1.6zxi-- 2002 model--

Exterior

 Very tough and strong --no rusting after 8 years--easy to keep looking good,with teflon coating on the paint--black colour

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

 Rather cramped and feels like the cattle class of an airline--entry into the drivers position is not easy-- power window failed 7 years ago for 1 window and not repairable because no spares available with Shakti FORD service station.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

 Engine has been reliable --good on expressway to Pune ---good 5th gear--gear shift into reverse is never good--2 or 3 times has to be tried---fuel economy is not good--very heavy fuel guzzler.

Ride Quality & Handling

 Not a ladies car--heavy pedals and steering-- good at freeways and at 5th gear--difficult to handle in traffic jams and city traffic--

Final Words

 Overall a very satisfying car after 8 years of use and only 6 servicings.

Areas of improvement  

 Gear box is hopeless--pedals are very heavy also power steering--very slow on pickup and difficult to handle in traffic conditions --wipers are very bad and get entangled--windows power is bad and 1 has not worked at and unrepairable.Glass in front was shattered and cracked but not completely broken and not leaking but glass was not available. Seats are difficult to adjust and air conditioning is not very satisfactory from the car was brand new.
