I am anoop kumar, have recently buyed your chevrolet Beat on March 2012 having registration number HR 36R XXXX, I would like to lodge complain regarding Poor service of my car at Vardman Auto rewari. Only two months i have enjoyed my car and after that I was oversheded by millions of issues ( my honeymoon period with my sweet car will get ended in between). I am fedup with the treatment I got after buying car. there is lot of difference in the behaviour of chevrolet representative before and after buying car. There are lot of promises regarding services and performance of Beat . but after buying I met TONS of problem and there is nobody to take care of that. my car is just parked in my home garage for the last two months due to lack of service from your side. There is long list of problem in my car but VARDMAN AUTO have raised their hands off as they ar unableto resolve the same.
I am done with two free service and one paid service ( while chevrolet claims that there is no charges for first 3 years, but I have to pay only after 4 months). There is long list of issue which I have faced but here I am mentioning few major ones, which I came across while servicing my car at VARDMAN AUTO.
1) Engine Oil Missing: every time I have visited service centre , Vardman Auto is not having Engine oil in their stock . they took one complete day to arrange engine oil, hence we have to give them two complete day for servicing, one day for them to arrange engine oil, second day to do servicing. HOLY CRAP !!! if any spares are required... then for sure they need time in MONTHS.
2) Vardman Auto is also missing basic amenities like genset, CAR WASHING, During my all three visits, they are not able to wash my car. Every time they are having problem like water motor not functioning well, no electricity, no gensets etc. I have to pay extra from my pocket everytime to get my car washed from outside.
3) Mechanic present in VARDMAN auto not technically fit. there competence level are very low. ( extremely poor), On all services Technicians have themselves created many other problems which are not present before. Practical examples which I have faced: (i) During first service, when I turn ignition on, my power steering stop working, there are other visuals lamps also shown in meter, after my complain their GM Mr Vinay Malhotra has called several other technicians to look upon , they took one more day to fix it up and admits their faults. (ii) During second service : technician have again created problem with engine oil lamp, which was fixed at later stage (iii) During third service ( PAID ONE) they have done with servicing and not able to diagnose poblem with Engine Oil chamber. when I switch on ignition, I saw engine oil lamp and after my complain the technicians have examined the car and found problem in Engine OIL Chamber. Now secong long phase of problem started due to non availability of spare part at VARDMAN Auto Rewari. TWO MONTHS have been passed since my car is taking rest at my home garage as you guys are not able to provide me spare part. I use to visit VARDMAN AUTO daily during first week to enquire about spare parts, and then on ODD days. Later on phone calls. I am in continous touch with them, but there is no update. still they are on same stage. TILL DATE THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO ARRANGE SPARE PARTS.
Now tell me: what should I do of your car, should I throw in garbage or should i ask KABADI WALA to take it OFF. Let me know, if you are having any answer of my mail, I would like to elcalate this issue to higher authorities, so please mail me back their contact number and email ID's. or otherwise I have to knock consumer court and media (as I am also working in dainik jagran). Hope you take care of all my issues and get my problem fixed up soon.

Diesel engine is underpowered as it is just 3 cylinder fiat engine but we have to compromise with that to get mind blowing mileage, no matter you guys belive it or not i am getting 25-26(90% of the time AC off)in highways and 18-19 in bangalore city. No hard feelings guys trust me i am giving exact numbers.
Guys if you are seriously looking for powerfull vehicle plz just go for 1400+CC diesel engine vehicle, how can you expect powerfull performance from 936CC 1.0 diesel engine?????
If someone bought this car and writing review as worst car then that shows his poor choice, it doesn't make BEAT bad car. he/she must have failed to understand their own requirements.
Ride Quality & Handling
Very good and very low maintenace cost. gear shift(1st -2nd) is bit harder compared to SWIFT/RITZ or any other maruti cars.

Guys, first understand your requirement and choose car accordingly. Its been enjoying 2 years 5 months with my BEAT and i just spent money for oil change till date. completed 19,000KM.
Dont forget it is one of the smallest diesel engine car and it is designed by keeping few things in mind 1.Awesome mileage, 2.City drive, 3. VFM budget diesel car. Guess what this car delivered all its expectations. GM's intentions are clear may be some buyers need more knowledge before choosing their cars.
Areas of improvement
Back seat leg room and boot space. back seat leg room seriously needs improvement.

Look and Style: Just cant beat it, only i20 elite can beat beat's look in hatchback segment.
Comfort: Not so comfortable, but for someone like me who is ready to adjust a bit it is good enough and I am from middle class so it is not at all a problem.
Pickup: Petrol pickup is good, diesel it is okay i can easily manage.
Mileage: Diesel mileage is just mind blowing. 18-19KMPL in Bangalore city(AC Off) and 24-25KMPL in highway(Bangalore-Tumkur).
Best Features : Exteriors, we really need to thank Chevy for such sporty design, rear is not so good but front and side is so good, even beat haters will like its design. Interiors are best in class but i didnt like green color, i always prefered black interiors.
Needs to improve : Back seat leg room and boot space, its just 170Ltrs.
Overall Experience : Guys, if you are some other brand fans just go there are write good reviews about your cars why are you guys writing bad reviews here???? Beat Diesel is not powerfull car i agree but it is not that underpowered as you guys compare it to Auto and Nano/Alto. Just stop it. I noticed one thing who ever wrote bad reviews here used sedan/luxury cars before and then they choosed BEAT. that's their problem.
How about comparing CRUZE to swift desire/Ford Ikon/???? is that rite??? no you cant compare.
Its been enjoying 2 years 6 months with my BEAT. i just spent money for Diesel, oil and for music system till date. completed 17000 KM. No matter its Chevy BEAT or Maruti SWIFT if you dont take care of ur engine you will face issue, just because Chevy is not well established in INDIA compared to maruti/Hyundai you guys are treating it as cheap vehicles. Maruti's influence is so much on us thatsy we never tried anything other than maruti.
Coming back to engine, it is just 936CC 3 cylinder diesel engine so please do not expect too much of performance but you can easily drive @ 100KMPH with 5 occupants that i can guarranty it any day in my life. i am an family person so for me this engine suits me the best. i just cant complain. i choosed this car because i got everything what i needed. when they first launched diesel engine in 2011 i waited for one year you know just to check how this 3 cylinder diesel engine will be. Later found they removed i cylinder for one reason - to get better mileage.
Chevy should have gone with same 4 cylinder fiat engine which is running in your so called powerfull cars(Swift/Ritz/Vista(Quadrajet not TDI) etc...) but they opted for 3 cylinder to give better mileage at the cost of little performance I agree.
You wanna race your car??? go for Figo/Polo/Swift/Punto. you guys are comparing 5lac worth car with 7 lac worth car and giving negative reviews.
The cars I liked the most after BEAT is SWIFT and FIGO but swift was not in my budget and figo mileage made me choose BEAT, and one major thing influenced me the most is LOOK, i just love it. I am not chevy fan or Maruti/Ford hater. I just like my BEAT not blindly but by going with it for more than 2 years.
I was very honest with my reviews, I am not chevy dealer. just trust me BEAT IS BUDGET,FAMILY,GOOD LOOKING, LOVEABLE CAR BUT NOT POWERFULL I ADMIT IT.
BEAT is for couples/family not for drag racer.

i have the mufc edition of the beat. got some decent features in the other models but not the best in its category. Front seats and space is great. Rear is cramped and got a tiny boot.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
most refined and economic Diesel engine in its class. Not very powerful but what'd you expect from 1000cc 3cyl turbo diesel. Has some decent torque and very easy to drive. Gear ratios are good. Overall very satisfying.
Ride Quality & Handling
Ride quality is firm. Suspension shouldve been a bit softer but firm ride makes it peppier and fun to drive. Very less body roll. The younger buyers would be pleased as I am one of them
Final Words
Good engine. Good design. Could've have been a bit spacious and ride shouldve have been softer. The plastic qualities are not so good. Overall. Very drivable and a proper city car.

I am using my Chevvy for almost 4 years now. So you can consider my feedback. This is purely for new buyers why to buy Chevy Beat LT diesel version.
1. Cheapest yet Most value for money.
2. Good Fuel Ecoomy (easily goes 23-24kms on highways/litre)
3. I dont think first time buyers look for more style and luxury. However, the looks are not too bad. But Opt for good colors, Linen biege, Black with Silver outlines, Dark grey. They all look too good.
4. No wait time or false assurances.
5. Built in ready to use internals, Audio system, AC, Remote locking system. No Airbags though.
6. You dont all these in other models. Some may even offer. But not very reliable like the one you find in chevvy.
7. If not top of the line performance, its very decent and pleasent. I made long drives upto 2000+ kms and 700Kms at one straight stretch absolutely no problem.
8. Smooth, Responsive
This is ot for racers but for family. This is just like any other product. In todays world tell me how many times we come across a defective product so Defects are very well possible. Just get it fixed with service center guys.
Overall its good.

Final Words Beat D periodic service intervel comes 7000 KMS and the service cost is around 5500 - 6000 Rs. The service cost of BMW 320d is Rs 18000/16000 KMS. So, there's only small difference.
Areas of improvement I hope the co: should check with the dealers (Deedi motors Thiruvananthapuram) that they are not charging fradulently as not to de face the goodwill of a good car. One could check the service details ofmy car KL02 AL 2500 which has been charged with around Rs 5000 from the 4th service up to the present KLM of 40000. The service of 37000 KMs costed around Rs6000 and they said that the co has instructed to change engine oil every 7000 Kms service. Any detail could behad frommy No: 9388XXXXXX.

Exterior
Easily the best looking car in its class. The styling is bang on for what it sets out to be - a no-nonsense urban hatch. The compact size is perfect for the daily city grind.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Snazzy interiors to go with the new-age exteriors. Emphasis on youth and movement. Ergonomics just right. Good fit and finish, best-in-class plastics. Has all the features you need and then some. Note that this review is for the pre-facelift version, with the all-black interiors (no silver like now). This version had automatic climate control too, a feature not offered at the time of it's launch in anything less than a midsize sedan.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Excellent performance for a 1-litre 3-cyl diesel. NVH levels are surprisingly low. Clutch is a little heavy, but you only feel it if you've been driving in start-stop traffic for an hour or more. Steering is super-light and easy. Avg. fuel economy of 18kmpl year-round with/without ac and with mixed city & highway usage, despite my generally aggressive driving style.
Ride Quality & Handling
Fantastic ride for a car of its size, suspension is tuned just right. Feels a bit stiff at very low speeds, but things improve as you go faster. Cruises comfortably without the typical up-down bobbing of a normal hatchback. Steering weighs up nicely around quick bends, though a bit vague around dead centre.
Final Words
For 5.46 lakhs ex-showroom delhi for the loaded lt variant, this is the cheapest diesel hatch in the country that doesn't say taxi all over it. Also on offer is the lt(o) trim, which (pre-facelift) offers only two airbags, abs and alloys over the lt. Not much needed for our speeds and roads, but good option for ppl who like safer cars. The only real competitor is the ford figo, which is again a very good package, but if looks are important to you, you're not looking at that.
Areas of improvement
I have been driving it for a year-and-a-half and 27500 kms now, and honestly i'm finding it hard to find anything to complain about. I suppose it's not very spacious, under-thigh support could've been better, but looking at its compact size, bigger seats would have meant lesser legroom. It's only 1595mm wide and 3640mm long, so not much to say there. The available space is used to the most optimum extent possible though.

Exterior Looks stylish for passionate and young hearted customers. One cannot challenge the supramacy of stylish exterior deisign on this car. Sporty looks makes it very attractive for young hearts. The design is extremely futuristic. Thats perhaps the best point about this car. "It looks awesome".
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good quality but internal space is bit cramped at the back seat. Good quality ,however, cramped rear space. Not comfortable for more than 2 people.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Excellent It gives me a mileage of around 19 KM but then I am a new driver. My freind owns same car and he gets a mileage of 23 KM. This car rocks.

Final Words Value for money, Excellent value for money. This car is just superb. It is the largest selling Chev car and no doubt it is a stealer on road

Final Words My name is Kailasanathan and use a Honda city and I purchased the beat Tdci LS model in february 2012 from M/S Deedi motors Trivandrum. Regn no i KL 01 BE 4178, have done more than 8000km so far. I am happy with the riding comfort, its compactness for use as a city car. The service provided by Deedi motors is reasnably good.
BUT I AM HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED WITH ITS VERY POOR MILEAGE.I GET ONLY ABOUT13(THIRTEEN) KM/L IN CITY AND MAX.17KM IN HIGHWAY WHICH IS WHOPPINGLY LOW WITH THE TALL CLAIM OF 25KM A LITRE.I AM GETTING ANNOYED SEEING THE DAILY ADVT.OF THE 25.4KM/L CLAIM.SO FAR NOTHING IS DONE TO IMPROVE THE MILEAGE. But for this, it is a very good car and I reccommend this to others, especially as a second car to city dwellers.
