VFM purchase? Stick to Maruti... Even if you do not like it

I own a ford ikon (my fav), vento, alto, swift & skoda laura. Did not want to buy another Maruti as just plain tired of it. Wanted to buy figo as you can actually see the quality with naked eyes but took my chances with Chevy beat and there started my ordeal. Dealer lied at all instances to me about price, availability, procedures. Got my car after 2 months that too in colour I hated the most. Booked black and got the beige. Also promised me various acc and service but got only half the things that too of lower quality than promised. One thing Chevy cannot keep is its 'PROMISE'.

Exterior Good looks but only from certain angles. Matter of opinion but looks ugly dukkar from the side. cheap feel to the metal of body. Cheap paint work. Though I have read and confirmed that the car is good with safety ratings.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Decent interior space for this segment. Best for front 2 passangers you can find in this class. Rear seats are acceptable size, surely not small as some reviews mention. Please do note that all seats are relatively smaller than any other car hence you do not get good under thigh support (mostly gets un-noticed). Ok for short trips and not good for long trips. Stock music system is very lame. Cant even upgrade lousy speakers due to odd fitting and specs. You will have to modify and put a custom parcel tray which will eventually mess up the car and produce noises you will not like. Wagon r has lot more and better to offer at the same price.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is very quite on idle but starts to roar the moment it is revved. FE is decent at 14.5 Km of Mumbai city and a bit of highway driving with 30% AC. Gears shifts smoothly though not as good as the swift or wagon r. In fact the gear stick reminds me of innova and tavera. 1.2 litre but the car works just like wagon r 1.0 litre. Feels equally puny. Like my mistake, do not think that this 1.2 engine will be the same as swift, i20, sail, amaze.

Ride Quality & Handling I read nuemrous reviews of how nice this car rides though I think all came from first time buyers. This car is jumpy as nothing else. Not made for potholes and patched roads. Slim tyres do not help either. Body roll is evident and not suppose to be so much in this type of car. Steering is hydrualic which is premitive and gives a mechanical feel. Not precise. Do not even think of exceeding more than 100 km/hr unless you are the famous race driver Mr. Chevrolet. I have owned many cars and fixed many myself and this one is the worst in ride quality I have come accross. I have sat in Auto rickshaws with better suspensions.

Final Words Do not purchase any Chevy. They are here only to make quick buck out of market already filled with CON companies. Fact that you are reading this review means you are looking for VFM. Choose Maruti and be happy. Do remember. you get what you pay for!

Areas of improvement: Quality, Sales, Service, Costs. Infact. Chevrolet should leave the country or our Govt should make them as they are making fools out of Indians with 'good looking' cars. This should definetely improve the buying trust of indian consumer.
