Exterior Good! Specially from front side it looks small brother of CRUZ. Back crome work could have been improved, looks pretty different as a man in crowed.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I liked the interior plan. Specially the plastic compared to Maruti Ritz and Tata cars. Dashboard is awesome specially the automatic climate control feature.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance I will give good marks till 80 km/hr but after that it will feel you that buddy you are in a smaller segment car. Good for zig-zag driving in city for that you need a good responsive engine. I took this after taking test ride of Maruti Swift vxi, Ritz vdi, Maruti a star, Tata Vista, Indigo CS, I10 1.2. Figo I could not. Among them I liked "RITZ vdi" a good paced car with good economy but it was almost 90000 INR costly than Beat[fully loaded-with few basic accessories]. I have calculated that the 90000 INR I will recover in 4-5 years of my driving..so donot loose the opportunity cost of money. Even then feature wise beat is much ahead in it's segment. Initially beat for few days gave mileage of 5-6 km/litre but just after a week after my complaining to dealer they reprogrammed it and did the milage test in city. I had driven 29 km with A/C on in city with 100 rs of petrol in Faridabad. It touches almost 16 km/litres. Gear box is OK type not great.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is good and Handling is also good.
Final Words
After lot of exercise when I took delivery of this vehicle following things happened just after that:
1. Car started dragging towards left badly just few 100 meters after the showroom.
2. I realized my mileage is around 5-6 km/litre.
3. 2-seconed gear pull was very bad.
I complained to REGENT AUTOMOBILE [My Dealer-Faridabad] and about their irresponsible behavior. The showroom service person checked the vehicle and found that really the problem exists. He took the vehicle and changed the front tyre from left to right and did some air adjustment. Now the drag started coming on right side. He started convincing me that it is minor. "Itna to chalta hai" . Mileage 6-7 km/litre. I was shocked and deep agony about my decision to choose this vehicle. I thought how can I be so fool specially I work in a automobile company YAMAHA. I was wondering if these guys would have done a simple PDI road test before delivery..things would have different. Again I complained and things were not moving in the right direction. I called up GM-Sales dealer, and Somebody from corporate. After calling at corporate office GM-service Dealer called me for providing me satisfaction. They took my vehicle and said they have done the wheel job and Reprogramming of engine. After such mental agony..finally GM-service [Dealer] Mr Sharma gave me a peace of mind by proving it's delivered mileage in city by 16km/ltr. I am thakful to MR Sharma team and Mr Rajneesh. I Sincerely recommend readers of this review to go for beat, but please be careful of PDI's. Because time is money.
Areas of improvement Auto AC: Most of the times in city condition when you set the temperature and when it is attained, it starts taking air from outside. This is painful specially in bad traffic. Reachability to Horn: A traditional style at middle, atleast topmost model should have integrated controls and horn at steering wheel.
