Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I purchased a 'beat'(mh03aw878) in march with high hopes for the automatic climate control.
All my hopes were dashed when I actually used it. Its very obvious that is was lifted straight from some european/american model and fitted here. It seems nobody bothered to test / use it in indian conditions and modify it accordingly.
Every time I start it, it starts taking in 'OXYGEN' and I end up smelling foul stench from the garbage truck ahead of me or smelling Carbon mono oxide from the truck beside me.
And if I dont use the 'AUTO' feature I end up setting the controls like any other 'NON AUTO' system.
Why does it have to look at the sun outside and then cool down? I want 22deg.C and thats it. The sun outside is irrelevant to the occupant's desired temperature inside.
Does the sunlight viewer take into account the sun control film installed on the windshield?

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The fuel economy is not more than 14kmpl in my car on highways. In city conditions it is around 11. I wonder who is getting 19? Or is it just my car not functioning properly?

 

Areas of improvement The dealers need to train their employees. specifically SC auto in thane. They dont know the complete car until now.

 

Looks good. smooth to drive. Enough space. Steady at high speeds,Average much lower than advertised. auto climate control not indianised.

Exterior Beat is the best car in the segment as far as the looks go. There is no other car which can match its style and beauty.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The legroom and interiors are reasonably good and comfortable. The seats are slightly uncomfort for long runs exceeding 400 kms. The boot space is pretty less so cannot carry a heavy luggage on tours.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine performance and fuel economy is good. The AC works well and ensures smoothness of vehicle.

 

Ride Quality & Handling A good city and highway car. I have driven it at speeds of 140-150 and found it to be stable at those speeds.

 

Final Words For all those who have not tried GM brand. Go for it!!! Its good value for family car.

 

Areas of improvement Suspension needs to better. Need to introduce other variants in diesel and LPG.

Rear Axle bent at just 10,800 kilometers run!

Reason Unknown.

Covered under Warrenty? No, dont know why and no justification.

Solution The chevrolet guys arent bothered about it.

Complaint Lodged: Yes lodged 2 weeks back but still no response or progress. Complaint NUmber 27295

Next Step Consumer Court????? Pls advice.

I have been calling the customer service everyday to ask for the update, but these fellows just give me one same reply every day that the issue has been escalted but dont know the truth yet.

This car is bought from Nikhil Automobiles Navi Mumbai! Nikhil guys have just raised their hands off the issue saying the customer has banged th car in pothole, how foolish is that? How can someone bang a new car which is almost new.

My dear Prospects pls dont buy chevrolet cars, you will cry at the end!!!!!

Very good Car but Poor After SalesBent Rear Axle @ 10.8K Kms

Car is very good for city driving, it's giving me quite a good mileage car also looks styles and car have a good and powerful engine but gears are quite hard but it may be due to the car is the old overall car is very good I wish GM start selling cars again in India.

Final Words Writing this review 45 days post- delivery and after driving for 1000 kms. I have the Chevrolet Beat base model with power steering and A/C (both are basic – no models without those features).

 

Background My wife and I bought the Beat after a lot of evaluation of cars in the hatchback and entry level sedans.

 

The criteria a fuel efficient car that can comfortably seat 5.

 

The Drive I usually drive in the city to commute to office and back in Mumbai - daily 45 kms, 30 kms freeway and the rest in traffic. I drive with a combination of air conditioning off and on depending on the time of the day. I don’t race beyond 80 kmph and prefer to drive at 65 even on the highways.

I got an average of 12.6 kmpl after initial check up and first servicing. I am expecting this to improve over time. I don’t want to comment on the looks and upholstery of the car as that is purely a matter of personal choice. To summarize the positives and negatives.

Exterior From the outside, car looks stunning as if it is a small demon on the roads... The sporty look given from the front gives a look of chevrolet cruze... The tail also looks superb.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Cant really comment on the performance as of now as its just been a month that i bought this car... Fuel economy as of now is around 10 which should improve after the 1st service..Gearbox is smooth...

 

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is smooth and handling is also good... Actually it is effortless.

 

Final Words A great value for money car that delivers more than what any other car can offer in this segment... I've bought the top model and for just 4.5 lacs, its a steal.

 

Areas of improvement OVRM's should be electronic, audio controls should have been on the steering..if these things can further be added, it would further be a positive...also the abs and a couple of otehr features in the optional variant should also be provided in the top model(LT) as the optional variant has been closed now.

 

Exteriors looks are stunning...superb dashboard..great value for moneyOVRM's should be electronic, audio controls should have been on the steering

 

Exterior Just looks stunning from the outside!Impressive rear looks! While compared to Figo,Polo,Micra and Swift(I had a bad experience of looks with my Suzuki Swift VXi BS-IV)looks stylish.Grill is from the Chevrolet Cruze and it looks smashing!But it is front that I like the most,in the Cock Tail Green colour which is a stylish hit for such a VFM like Beat!

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Stunning interiors!Climate control was in LT but I opted for LT Option Pack as it had ABS,Airbags and Alloy Wheels.But a small boot limits its appeal. Copy of the Spark boot in 170 litres!But it appeals in in comfort as it will fit five people in comfort.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox An 79 PS engine is excellent a lot!But a 89 PS engine could have beaten the Swift K12M(Though not in competition).Good FE.Good Gearbox.

 

Ride Quality & Handling Good ride and the supple handling is comfortable.

 

Final Words This is Chevrolet s' Devil-Chevy Beat.The best hatch in India!Comfortable in the back,is appealing in looks,has a good cabin and the enhancing big equipment list enhance it.I think it is the best and VFM car in class.A big boot could make its space better but.It has lots of features-

1-Dual airbags

2.ABS

3.Climate control

4.Alloy wheels

This is the best really!Buy the Beat if you want a stylish car.

Exterior Beat 1.2 LT is having the best look of all the cars in the segment.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Best suited for city as well as long journeys. Good Leg space for Driver with tiltable stearing and adjustable seats and very cute interiors and quality of music system is awesome. Features loke auto ac makes it a best buy. The best part of the beat is the passengers leg space which i bet more than any other car in the segment.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is totally noise free at even 120-150 kmph.  Mileage is good and 5 spd gearbox is very smooth.

 

Ride Quality & Handling Very comfortable and pocket friendly car. Suitable for city rides as well as long rides. The breaks are very powerful and car can be halted fom 120kmph in shortest distance. Acceleration is smooth (ideal for city traffic jams) and vehicle will not jump on pressing the accelerator which makes it ideal even for ladies.

 

Final Words It is THE BEST CAR in the segment with all the features of higher end vehicles at a cheaper price.
