Exterior Fine, but not futuristic. Colour choice is very limited. Rear view mirror illumination from the bottom to light the path of the step is very thoughtful. Cornering lamps are a boon.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Less space, boot space could be more. Ride is comfortable. Excellent features , Parking assist is of great value, on board computer is useful.Chrome gear shift is stylish. Leather seats are cosy.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Excellent performance with 18.5 km/lit on highway and 16.5 in the city, would prefer automatic as it is tedious to shift 6 gears. Gear shift is little touchy.

Ride Quality & Handling Smooth ride , Great performance, excellent control. Even my wife is comfortable driving it as it is not a monster SUV.

Final Words At 16 lakhs on road price, it would have been the best choice.

Areas of improvement Head lamps- not very happy with the illumination.  Interior space , boot space can be increased a wee bit. Ground clearance needs a little help.

Good fuel economy, advanced featuresless spacious, low ground clearance

      Hi,

I am using Skoda Yeti this Six months. Purshased at Mahavir Auto, Skoda Delears, Hyderabad. Some of the features I can share with you.

Mileage, Average and Fuel Economy The Skoda Yeti is available with permanent front wheel drive with automatic torque distribution and 6 speed manual gearbox; the car comes powered by the 2.0L, 1968 cc, TDI CR, 4 Cylinder, 16 V DOHC, Liquid cooled, high pressure direct injection, turbocharged diesel engine that is strong enough to belt out maximum power of 140 bhp at 4200 rpm and pump out maximum torque of 320 NM at 1750-2500 rpm through manual six speed fully synchronised transmission along with permanent four wheel drive automatic torque distribution- haldex clutch.

Power: As already mentioned, the Skoda Yeti comes powered by a 2.0L, TDI CR, 1968 cc, 4 cylinder, 16 V DOHC, liquid cooled, high pressure direct injection, turbocharged diesel engine that is mated to a manual six speed fully synchronised transmission along with permanent four wheel drive automatic torque distribution- haldex clutch.; this powerful engine can develop a top power of 140 bhp at 4200 rpm and crank out top torque of 320 NM at 1750-2500 rpm.

Average Mileage in City is Around 15 Kmph/per litre and highways 17 Kmph/per litre.

Delear End: I am happy with the mahavir auto for the Services of Vechile in a best way.

Can Say that Smallest SUV. With Ultimate technology.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Comfortable leg room for the driver and the passengers both front & back. Very smart usage of space with multiple crevices strategically located inside the cabin. For example, a small space under the front passenger seat is so useful to keep lil change or a pack of buiscuit within easy reach. Great air conditioning with dual climate control.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I hv been gettting a fuel economy of ~12 km in the city and ~15 km on the highways. Some issues with  the gears and the vehicle is prone to die down if one is not too careful.

Ride Quality & Handling Superier ride quality.. feels like driving a smooths edan within the city with easy manoverability and a very short turning radius.

      Final Words Fantastic urban SUV.

Areas of improvement The Bolero system has the Bluetooth capability, however, for some unknown reason, Skoda has decided not to activate the same. Hard to  understand at the this price range since, its own Fabia has the facility.

Smart looks, comfortable ride and balance, feels like one is driving a great sedan inside a SUV.The Bolero system is cabable of bluetooth connectivity, yet for some reason, it is inactive in India

Exterior Very agressive front, love the foglights setting, purposefull rear especially after removing the rear mudflaps, side profile is not very interesting.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Amazing features at the price, love the steering controls, touchscreen, ESP, TCS, EDL, six airbags, comfortable seating for 4 adults plus 1 child, boot space though looks small but can actually take up a lot of luggage, leather seats and door trims, love the boreal wood design on the dash.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Amazing performance from the engine at the same time giving great fuel economy. gears are very precise.

Ride Quality & Handling Little stiff at low speed but great at highway speeds and amazing handling. feels like a low slung sedan instead of the suv. even in the hills the handling is amazing.

Final Words Real value for money. the SUV FOR THE INTELLECTUAL!!

Areas of improvement Needs offroad tyres to truly explore its offroad potential, little bit more ground clearance would have been great.

Cabin space management, engine performance, fuel economy, features, sizeNo offroad tyres available,no cruise control

      Exterior

Very practical car especially if one is using in the city as well as on the highways.  Good finishing and solid engineering which gives you a safe feeling in the vehicle.  Can't call this vehicle a SUV though.  It is more of a well designed station wagon.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Interiors are sophisticated, rich and good finish.  space is adequate.  Decent features but for the pricing could have included an iPod dock and bluetooth connectivity for hands free calling.  Space and comfort is adequate

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

One has to buy this car for its Engine performance.  Can weave into the traffic with great ease. Gear shift is very smooth.  Driving is very easy and does not tire you out in traffic conditions.

      Ride Quality & Handling

The handling is simply superb.  The suspension is a little too tight and therefore the ride qualty is not great in the rear seats.  Too much feel of the road, which is not desired in Indian conditions.  The ride in the rear seat is more like a small car.  Cabin noise is more than desired, contributed by tire noise and subtle door rattle.

      Final Words

Very good vehicle with solid engineering.  Found slight rattle in three doors upon delivery.  Customer service is not existent.  You simply cannot contact them.  The phones are not picked up and emails are never replied.  If you are unlucky and get a problem in the car then you had it.  You are at the mercy of the dealer, the company does not have a face.

      Areas of improvement

The company has a trader mentality and literally wash their hands off after the car is sold to you.  Though the cars are great, one cannot sustain a product without proper service back up.

      Exterior

Its a very good car indeed. The styling grows on one. I love the compact size. Perfect for my particular needs. I guess i have evolved from the 'size'matters, perspective. Quality is any day preferable to Quantity!

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Very ergonomic, comfortable and packed with high quality features. Feels many notches above in comparison to the Fortuner, Captiva, X Trail, XUV, Endy and the like. Brilliant supportive seats. Lovely upholstery. Great quality throughout.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

brilliant responsive engine. Extremely powerful. Excellent Fuel economy around 15 to 16 on highways and consistent 12 to 14 in city. AC on always plus lousy bumper to bumper Bangalore traffic. Amazing really. One of the slickest shifting gearboxes I have ever experienced in my life. Better than any other manual transmission SUV I ve driven.

      Ride Quality & Handling

Superb, to say the least. Feels planted at all speeds. Handles bumps and broken roads with consummate ease. I have driven it for about 6000 kms so far and believe me, every moment spent in this car has been a pleasure. The safety features are literally 'best in class'.

      Final Words

Simply Clever and Osessed with Quality as per Skoda's own words, about sums it up. Its the best car I ve owned so far. Indeed I will be hard pressed to find a replacement when it is time to upgrade!

      Areas of improvement

try and introduce the top spec SE Plus version with an autobox and optional sunroof. Also please provide the bluetooth phone option to us. Change the OEM tyres to something stronger to handle the Indian Roads which are mostly broken tracks in the cities and the countryside!

Fit, finish, safety, city usage, easy to handle, very high quality levels.Slightly small. Still expensive.

Exterior I love the exterior of the Yeti. Yes it's quircky and a bit boxy, but that's what I like about it. It doesn't look like it's been designed solely by a computer! As I got a bright red one it is now known as 'Postman Pat's Van' by friends and family - which just makes me chuckle!

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) No complaints. I've had Skodas before and it's very similar. Unsurprisingly it's also pretty similar to my husband's Audi! Mine is a company car and has to do a lot of miles, for which it's very comfortable. But it's equally good off road around the yard and fields where I keep my horse.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox This is one of the key reasons I chose this car. I wanted something capable of towing a horse but also that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg in Company Car Tax or running costs. The yeti fits the bill perfectly. It's towing capability is a lot more than many of the others in the crossover class. For some people the difference between towing 1600kg or 2000kg may be an irrelevance, but it's crucial if you're pulling a horse.

Economy wise I'm pleasantly surprised, as I'm not paying much more for my personal fuel account than I did with my previously (very) economical BMW 1 series. The relatively low list price (for a 4x4) makes it a good choice for comapny cars.

Ride Quality & Handling Good both on the motorway and around country lanes or even off road. I've used it a few times so far for towing (total weight ~ 1400kg) and been very impressed with the ride and stability.

Final Words Like the Octavias I've had before, the Yeti is a great car. If you still can't get over the Skoda name badge then it's your loss! If you want a crossover I don't think there's a better choice for performance and value for money.

      Areas of improvement NA.

Styling, towing capacity, economyAnnoying unlocking system

I had bought a Yeti in Dec.2011 and since last one month it is in workshop awaiting replacement of head, piston etc. etc. It all happened one fine day when car did not start and had to call the service center to look into the problem. Later on it was discovered that there was leaking oil valve which led to series of problem. Thankfully car is still in warranty period and Skoda is getting the part replaced although in their own sweet time. It indicates the poor quality control at their manufacturing facility and it worries me that where else the problem may occur and what if it occurs after the warranty period. They don't respond and you require lot of patience and preverance to get anything done. I suggest to all prospective car buyers to be extra cautious while opting for this brand if at all you want to go for it.

Good style and compact sizeCar quality is a suspect and extremely poor response from Skoda.

Exterior Great product from Skoda - excellent paint job, really cute to look at.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) A little cheap for something that is 20L on the road. Noise level is very low and the diesel roar is hardly audible with the windows closed. I would have liked a louder horn - to get the folks out of the way in crazy Bangalore traffic.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Small turbo lag, would have liked a V6 (Like the Suzuki Vitara).

Ride Quality & Handling Very unlike a typical SUV - this is a highly refined vehicle, more like a car. I think this is closer to the Xtrail. Toyota Fortuner is horrible in comparison.

Final Words Another winner from Skoda. My biggest concern is the poor quality of dealers. I don't know why Skoda does not choose better ones. Most of the ones I have encountered have no idea about customer service.

Areas of improvement Better ground clearance would be good for offroad use. But this car SHOULD NOT BE USE OFF ROAD!! Calling this an SUV is a misnomer.

Small and fuel efficientPoor ground clearance, does look a little dainty

Exterior Black looks superb and blends in with the B and C pillars. Attracts quite a bit of attention on road. Superb build quality all round. The size is a real bonus in Bangalore traffic. I've been able to park in tight spaces.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The front seats are best. Space management is clever for a car of this size. The dashboard and features are typical European - well thought out with high quality materials. The driver's seat gives a command view of the traffic and lends that feeling of control. The 6 airbags and all the safety features are re-assuring.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is very good. A minor irritant is the tendency to stall at low revs. All in all considering the weight of the car, a 160 HP engine would have been the icing on the cake. Performance is very good along with fuel economy. Very easy to drive and the gearing is a pleasure with short throws.

Ride Quality & Handling Build quality is awesome and translates into a sure-footed performance on road. Handling is pretty good though I have yet to test its stability at high speeds.

Final Words A quality package - looks unique and is a head turner particularly in black.

Areas of improvement The tendency to stall at low revs. I feel the floor colour could have been a lighter shade. The fact that the accelerator is attached to the floor is a minor irritant as I couldnt find rubber mats which can factor this in. A sunroof would have been the icing on the cake.

Black looks superb and blends in with the B and C pillars, driver friendlyTendency to stall at low revs. No sunroof. Stiff ride at times.
