Final Words I have purchased new car Jan 2013 InTafee Acess Sealer In Bangalore and one week back car breakdown due clucth not engagine Sent to service center It is in warrantee period and run only 2600km My age is 73 and 40 years of experience in driving I never expected such a German technology engine with very poor clutch quality fitted. Surprisingly service skoda in Tafee Acees Bangalore doesnot spare for giving service and getting the concurrance for warrantee period replacement taking more time. this has to be decided by Manager service center, I am very Unhappy about this.
Areas of improvement Any break down sufficient spare should be available in service center and coustmer care is the utmost importanr about Quality and service.

Hello,
I booked Skoda Rapid in February 2013 with St Antony's Skoda, Ernakulam paying an advance amount of Rs. 10,000/-.
Later I had to cancel the booking because of their poor after sales service and I went for Volkswagen Vento.
I had offically requested for refund back in February itself and the refund is still not processed.
Their marketing and sales team is built on top of lies and with fake personals like Mr. Santosh (GM Sales).
They provided me with false information that the refund is processed from Kollam Head Office and they are responsible for the delaying. But later when I visited the HO they said both the offices are working independently.
In between they told me tons of dump reasons not to process the refund, even the skoda customer care was not at all helpful.
Skoda reputation is getting badly affected due to their dealers. I urge perspective Skoda owners not to go with St Antony's Ernakulam.

Exterior Elegant it does not look sporty but it has its presence as a gentleman on road.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Basic but solid build, it misses the hyundai gadgets but you can ignore if you know what you are looking in a car. spacious interior for five, the boot space is also good, sufficient legroom for rear seats even the fron seats are stretched backwards. Good thigh support for rear seats.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Steering is responsive and accurate, engine performance is very good it could be more refined, fuel economy is 17-20 I haven't tested on highway. Reverse gear is a little tricky and a bit heavy as well rest all are fairly light.
Ride Quality & Handling Very good ride quality and handling you don't have to worry on most of the bumps and potholes in the city it cruises through them easily.
Final Words A real value for money

I own a SKODA Rapid ambition plus TDI, while I gave my first service which is at 6months 7500 km I was complaining about my clutch was struck and it is unusually hard to handle but the service representative replayed me it is not an issue you can put your leg down an pull back I insisted him again an while getting the car back I was told that all diesel clutch will be hard. I raise the same issue in my second service same answer I was receiving infact the service engineer dosent seem to be in a mood to answer my queries. Now nothing changed on 23/12/14 I gave my car for 2nd year paid service now I was receiving a replay that “your Clutch an fly wheel need to replace approximate amount is 49K” after calling this representative multiple times I could able to speak to him when asked what is wrong with the car he replayed me some components need to change exact amount I will call you another 10min, then I called him back after 30min he told me Clutch and flywheel need to change and the estimated cost is 68K I dont know now it increased from 49K to 68K.
Now I am paying for my wrong decisions and the service engineers think that they are above the customers, worst, horrible, hilarious, barbaric fellows.
Is this product dosent support for just 25000km my old ford fiesta running fine after 90000KM. Another mistake I recently made is that I bought another SKODA for my wife. Why they can’t check the car first time I while I was complaining.
2012 --- I bought a RAPID in TAFE access hosur road.
2014 --- I bought same RAPID in VINAYAK SKODA in marathalli.
These service engineers don’t know anything they just have a standard template, most importantly four times I have gone to this service centre every time atleast 1hr I have to wait and collect the car. This time I was waiting for more than 30min to leave my car in the service station, even though the representative is just standing few steps away He was just chitchatting and after getting the car also he was very casual an lethargic. MY next car will not be a SKODA.

Plushy interiors, space is adequette for taller person like me. I asked the front passenger to move his seat completely towards the back seat to check the space available for people more than 5ft 10Inches tall. Surprisingly there was enough space left between my knee and the front seat. Comfort level of sitting driving seat and sitting as a passenger are very good. Dual tone interiors gives you feeling that you are sitting in a luxurious car. Interior colors are also well chosen colors.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
1.6L Engine has enough power for those who would like to power drive the diesel cars. With 105BHP@4000 RPM gives you that fun to drive the diesel car & Torque of 250@1500 gives you that thrill to push the accelerator pedal little more. You press the accelerator pedal and this car obliges your order to the ease and zooms ahead within no time. I liked its pick up in 3rd gear a lot. Gear shift is also very smooth with the gear shift indicator in the Multi information display, you will come to know if you are in a wrong gear. When you press the throttle you get the feeling that you are sitting in a aero plane thats taking off & you get pushed back on your seats. On the lower RPM vehicle does not give you much of jerks. On the higher RPM and you will enjoy the ride as the steering control becomes little heavy and you get that sterdiness. Fuel economy not sure as it was just a test drive.

I got heavily disappointed when i saw, even in top end we dont get Audio controls & Bluetooth connectivity controls on steering wheel & its very disapointing to see that top end variant doesnot offer you leather seats option.
One would expect to get these features for the price tag of 11.6L for this variant

Its an awesome car, majestic and looks like Laura only, many of my friends having b/c segment car mistook it for Laura and checked if it was about 17 la. Majestic looks, some of my team members not knowing whose car it was took pics standing next to it in a resort. Definitely a head turner.

Nice and comfortable, cd track changing is easy, climate control is easy if you understand it else you will keep fiddling as to how to cut off the ac, high seating position even 5 ft tall people can easily drive the car as the seat can be adjusted and at its highest position even a six footer like me has no problem with my head room, i need not adjust the seating. Auto fold of outside rear view mirror is missing and it is pain folding the mirror after parking, high boot in the back offers very LITTLE visibility while reversing, if you dont have a rear view mirror it is better to check the rear side like you do it in a lorry/bus/van before reversing. Leather seats would have added elegance to the majestic car. Interiors are nice and done well, plastic quality is good, doors are like armours and close with a thud, solid doors requires some energy to open and close. Bottle and cup holder in the front is not there and hence a problem, low reflecting ovrm and rear view mirror is new exp because you really dont know some two wheeler moped tailing you.

Excellent, in second gear though the car pulls on its own, the beast doesn't stop unless you downshift or reduce the acclerator to zero, its scary in bumpy roads because the second gear has so much power. Gear box is smooth, no hassles at all, it slots nicely, the rear and the first in the same position, since the rear needs pushing the gear lever down and engaging there is no issue. I have touched 120 at best and not have experimented with high speeds yet and at 120 its steady and composed, nothing it sails smoothly and there is no strain at all, in 3rd if you put the accelerator down there is huge surge of power and your companion will definitely grab the hand rails for support. Its really too fast and can leave the fast motorbikes at the signal way behind if there is an empty stretch ahead. 2nd and third are as good as a peppy petrol car. Overall mileage is about 18 km, fill it forget it, on a nh stretch you can see distance to empty as 830 km etc for about an hour or so.

Excellent ride quality, very composed, the bumps dont get into the cabin, back seat is a great place apart from the drivers seat. in highway at high speeds if you go over a pothole you dont feel it inside most times but once it came inside heavily with a big noise in kerala road. turns are great, high speed turns are no problem and brakes are great.

Troublesome RAPID- Third Rate Service back up
I bought a diesel Skoda Rapid- Elegance during December 2012 from TAFE, St. Marks Road, Bangalore.
During April 2013, my car developed Air-conditioning trouble, a strange and loud noise started emanating from the AC compressor and cooling almost became NIL.
We contacted TAFE service centre situated on Hosur Road Bangalore and they told us to come in after 2 days to get the car checked, they had the audacity to say that since all slots were full, they cannot take in my car for checking the complaint despite car being under warranty. after initial check i was told that the AC compressor seems to have developed trouble but they need permission from SKODA AUTO to remove the engine cover and reach for the troublesome part and that permission came in after about a week, now, it was confirmed that the compressor has indeed failed, and then starts the waiting, the workshop said that the part has to come from Delhi and it may take 20 days to reach, i tried calling Skoda customer care and also wrote to them saying that i cannot wait for the AC to be repaired over next 30 days that too in peak summer conditions and asked them to fast track my repair work, all got from them is an eye-wash of an email stating that they will do there best and their BEST turned out to be about 25 days after thorough follow up by my son.
The part was replaced after leaving my car in TAFE garage for 2 days and the service centre guy, Mr.Louis promised that the problem is rectified for good.
Now, after less than 30 days the AC compressor was replaced with a new one, SAME TROUBLE has come back and the AC compressor is making loud noise when AC is turned on. I have to complain, and i did, same kind of response from SKODA auto customer care and i have to send my car to TAFE service tomorrow. Hope this time they will resolve the trouble for good.

I left my Skoda-Rapid on 13th November in the service centre. Today is already 25th November (13 days) and still I donot know when I am going to get the vehicle after service and some minor repair on the body. After sales service at Bangalore is extremely bad. This service centre seems to be managed by non-professionals. There is no coordination among the staff. The land-line is either dead or no one wants to respond 8 out of 10 times. Delivery committments are not honoured. Complaining to all the responsible persons including the showroom at St. Marks road, does not yeild any result. The so called 24x7 help-line 18002094646 is a hoax. They didnot answer around 7AM. Even 10days after placing the complaint, no one called me to give the feedback. I can go on & on.
If you are a Bangalorean, donot buy any Skoda vehicle, as you will face problems like the ones above.

This car is the best when it comes to looks in dis segment. awesome looks n good style. interiors are average. could have done up much better. space is excellent with excellent leg room, head room n boot space. very comfortable for a long drive.
engine performance is excellent, engine sound needs to b worked on. fuel economy is excellent for the power that the engine has. N smooth gear box .
ride quality of rapid is mind blowing. one of the best in the segment with very good pik up n power and excellent handling. some cars have excellent power but handling is bad. but in case of rapid its not the case. u can rely of the car when u r at a high speed.
I would rate the car on a scale of 1 to 10. i will give 8.5.
should have given more sporty interiors n some more features like usb slot.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Perfect in this Segment. I really appriciate its colour Combination and Good quality Material, Space and Comfort.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine Performance is Excellent having Very Good Pick Up. Though a little bit noisy, but bearable. Fuel Economy is average. I am getting 16.8 to 17.7 on average. Gearbox is OK, but reverse gear is very hard when pulled back.

Final Words I don't think that any other car of this segment can compete it in terms of its stuff, interior, exterior, quality drive and features in combination.
Areas of improvement Work on Reverse Gear which is very hard when pulled back. Add Bluetooth, Pen Drive and Steering Mounted Audio Controls, Parking Sensers. Improvement inSkoda Dealers' Service and Customer Oriented Attitude.
