Exterior The car exteriror is veary neat and classy

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The interiors are elegant. It a very spacious car and can accomodate 5 average built indians, Provides enough leg room to the passegenr seat and the height adjustment and steering adjustment makes this car very comfortable.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine is very responsive and it is quiet!! the fuel economy is 17 km/ltr in city conditions and in highway the economy goes up to 20++. The gear box is extermly smooth.

Ride Quality & Handling Due to hard suspension there are no jerks while crossing pot holes hence the drive is smooth. The best part as per me is the sterring control it is pure magical.

Final Words If you are looking for the core benifits of the car which is Drive, Comfort, and Performance this is the best car in this category.

Areas of improvement  would have been great if there would be steering mounted controls and and side indicators on the Out side view mirrors. rest is just perfect. I have no regrets on my decision of buying this car. Most us does not know tht the first free service is at 15000 km isnt it cool. this is SKODA!! take a test drive to believe it.

Hi everyone!

I am writing from rajasthan, I baught one Skoda Rapid Deisel from jai Skoda in March 2012, I got its check up done by end of first six months and the first free service by March 2013 after completing 14000 Kms at Jai Skoda-Udaipur.

My car started giving white smoke along with vibration in engine when I put the ignition on in front of my house (I saw it when i started taking it back in the rear view mirror). Since I am a mechanical engineer I immidiately stopped the car and called Skoda road side assistance ALSO I checked at the fuel pump where I had the last fuel filling done. The filling machine only had diesel nozzle so there was no chance of filling in wrong fuel.

The road side assistance crane took the vehicle to Jai Skoda-Udaipur and now over 15 days have passed but there is no report available on the root cause of problem

I spoke with Skoda people (Sriniwas-North zone) but he in not giving me any clue on the problem. When i speak with workshop people at Jai Skoda they try to blame on Skoda company people.

I am supposed to relocate to Hyderabad on 20th June (today is 29th May) but I am pretty sure that I am not gonna get my car before 19th June so that I can drive my car to Hyderabad.

Last option left with me is to wait for couple of days and file a case in the consumer court.

Most surprising element was that Jai Skoda has a supervisor who takes the calls from customers and he used to fill fuel at a fiiling station in Udaipur before joining Jai Skoda.

Exterior Exterior is quite massive with its mass looking large burnet and its skoda design,the whellbase is excellent means it has the most spacious interior  in its segment,the head lights and fog lamps are stylish looking.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The new sterring wheel and the new logo looks great,the space and comfort is phenonomel with its large legroom and the spacious cabin the luxurious and solid built cabin fells expensive.reart seats under thigh is excellent.the featues are decent with betlt and seas height adjustment,rear aircon vents etc the metre is easy to read.

Engine Performannce, Fuel Economy and Gearbox It can reach 100 km in just 10.7 seconds that is excellent the engine is punchy and responsive. The engine revs good and feel confident.gearbox is slick and easy to use.the fuel ecomony is decent in its segment.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is the best in its segment and the handle like a hatchback not lika a long car it fells planted and flat at high speed.

Final Words The rapid is the car to buy in the segment.

Areas of improvement The seat fabrics are firm and the rear airco vents not great.

Exterior Very elegant and you can always go for projector head lamps, alloy wheels and make it sexier.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Need to be careful as the colour beige gets spoiled in few years. too spacious from inside.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Excellent engine, turbo power makes you feel king on highways. Overtaking, stability on high speed, ABS , overall good package. Mileage on highway 24km/litre and in city traffic 15-16km/litre.

Ride Quality & Handling Best in class and no car in this segment can match. I can bet on this. Very confident in high speed . The suspension are stiffer and tunned accordling to indian poth holes.

Final Words Decent car, you can go for this car blindly if you want to taste skoda.

Areas of improvement Engine noise as it really matters when you standing near car sounds like lorry ;-) Also head lights needs to be changed. more powerful lights needed. You can change the bulb From dealer.

Final Words Each car's very crucial element is the service. And skoda's pathetic service will seriously make you cry. Money digger people who try to lootofy you. Recent experience is I have dashed my car and have a dent and scratch on front bumper. The skoda service guy told me dont go for insurance it will take a week's time. We will replace this with new one in 5 days. you will just have to pay 3000rs extra for that because anyways for insurance claim and repair you will pay 2500rs. Replacing the bumper will cost around 5500rs. I gave the car for 1 year service and the people said that though you are giving the car for service before completing 1 year; you have already exceeded 15000km and now you wont get the free service.

Other thing is for servicing they said it will take 1 and half day and after hell lot of follow up they returned my car after 3 days. The service center in sewri i.e. AUtobahn Skoda is surrounded by slum areas and the place is aweful. There is absolutely no place to park and the car is parked always in a gully at back of the service center where people usually urinate. The service center staff is pathetic and rude. Servicing is also not upto the mark. In fact after servicing and telling them 100 times about the defect in my car from the day 1 remains the same; that defect is you need to tightly hold the stearing to make the car go straight or else it slides onto the left automatically. My earlier car was Maruti Suzuki Wagon R and Sai Service is the best Car Service provider I must say. Withing 2 days your major car repairs are done and they do service in just one day.

Areas of improvement I dont think so these losers can ever improve.

Car is very good, engine, suspension, exteriors, interiorsService the biggest turnoff which will definitely make you regret your decision of buying skoda.

I purchased my Skoda Rapid Elegance 1.6TDI CR MT from M/s Mahavir Auto, Bhubaneswar. After lot of research I purchased this car. Before buying Rapid I already had test drive of Ford Fiesta, Honda city, Nissan sunny, Vento, Renault Scala, Hyundai Verna.On the 1st test drive I was very much impressed. At very high speed its road grip is excellent. Engine Power is wonderful. There is slight engine noise but can be compormised with other parameters. Car exterior is really impressive from the side it look like a vento but its RAPID. Its suspension is also very good on rough roads. Road clearance is OK. I am yet to experince the after sales service. In Odisha M/s Mahavir Auto being the only dealer they need to give attentions on road site assistance and emerginecy assistance across the state.

I have opted for two years extended warranty.SKODA's insurance partner M/s Bajaj Alliance need to be more customer friendly.After several requests my address of comminication has not been corrected so far.

Final Words I have driven this car 8000 km & find this excellent value for money. Before buying  I had read many reviews which were negative still I went for it & don't regreat my decision of buying Skoda Rapid. Contarary to public perception I recieved excellent after sales service thru Jamshedpur Skoda dealer  IMPERIAL VECHILE.

Rapid has vary good drivebility 7 it cost 70-80 k less than Hyundai Verna with same feature. Again paying 70-80 k extra for percieved after sales service of Verna doesn't make much sense to me. This saved money can offset any service lacuna in any in case of Skoda.

I am satisfied with Rapid performence & strongly recommend this car.

over all very good but the front arm rest could have been sturdier. also the positioning of the rear view mirror should be canged for better visibility. Rear view camera and steering mounted controls are must and should be included as they are in Vento. Boot space even though little less than vento has good design and can accomodate loads of luggage specially if you are going on the ong drives. The rear seats could have been collapsible.

 Amazing pick up. could drive at 150 without and measurable vibrations and shakiness. wind flow well controlled. Gear shift smooth.

 very good. Braking on undulated ground shaky.

 LED head lamps, horn very hard to press, fuel average and distance to empty being now provided even tata and maruti. fuel tank lid shoud be on left as per general norms.

Mine is an AT version and the features in this is really well and gives excellent comfort in riding. The manual drive (additional option in this AT version) is very helpful in driving down from hills and very safe for driving.

 After sale service is the area need to be looked into. Service center should have experienced / qualified person who can look into complaints throughly and able to figure the problem area. There is some unsual noice in my vehicle when it goes on rough road. It got worsened further after the service !!! I am taking back for checking again and rightnow not sure of their capability to address. Could give my final review after this check and attending my vehicle by the service personal. Hopw this time they will do proper check.
