I have been using octavia rider since 4 years.
Robust machine, excellent mileage.
It is dream car for highway users because of very good safety features & mileage.
Bit heavy for city use.
But always check the reputation of dealer in your city.As aftersales service is utmost important for your peace of mind.

Exterior Very outdated by current standards, in fact it feels like a 10-15 year old design platform of a VW Jetta, reskinned by Skoda and partly build in India. (VW may not be known to be as reliable when compared to better Japaneese marques, as per JD Power and a majority customer surveys undertaken in N America over the last decade!!).
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Its nice with leather, but cabin leaked twice!
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Nice fuel economy but maintenance costs far outweight fuel savings!
Ride Quality & Handling Comfortable on highways but tireing to drive in city!! Does not like changing direction easily and very hard ride for certain Indian road conditions!
Final Words I have lucikily got rid of mine in time and bought a Toyota Corola for regular use, with which I am very very happy compared to the Skoda!
Skoda makes the Octavia very hard to love!!

If you've followed the Indian automotive market, you know how scarce proper performance cars are here, and this is totally one of them! The 1.8 turbo producing 150 bhp and 210 N•m as output is like none other. It can be further tuned to ~200 bhp and 250 N•m with ECU remaps. The handling is of a proper fun drivers' car! Not even the Laura RS released later can match Octavia RS' handling with the sports tuned stiff suspension. The comfort levels are decent at best as it is more of a city car than a luxury one. In the used car market, you can easily manage one in between ?1,50,000-?5,50,000 and there's no other alternative in the Indian car market that matches this!

Final Words Most Safe Vechile with the best Price. I can say That i have met A Accident with this Car. belive it or Not i amd Driving the Car at speed of 140 Kmph and met with accident . My vechile got Damaged, but i am Safe with MINOR injurious. The Technology SKoda Uses Is Really Execellent. I suggest User to Buy The Skoda models For the Life Security.Hello, Have been driving a the skoda ocatavis 1.9 TDi for the last year or so. Well to begin with the car is fantasticly built. it sticks to the ground at high speeds, never do you once feel it is becoming unstable. The front seats are very very comfortable which is good for the driver especially on long drives. Great leg room.(no electronic seats in this variant) The engine is quite powerful, touches 140 in no time. those of us who are not used to driving such powerful vehicles have to make sure you do not overspeed on long winding roads, the built is so good that it gives you no idea of speed. Power steering is also perfectly set, not too light. The tires are also quite good. suit the cars needs. The doors open wide, easy entry and exit. Let me warn you, the Air-conditioning is amazingly powerful, have set to set it on medium even in the hot afternoon. Speed setter for wipers in the intermediate mode, works for me, also the small display in the dashboard, tells you about the avg. speed, time since car started, etc etc. good fun for the curious minds. Yes it does give the 17-19 kmpl on the highways. also 13-15 in the city, if diven well. unreal fuel economy. The whole car is great, just cudve have thrown in the elctronics seats, ABS , the goodies, as available in some cars of the same class. The legroom in the rear is the only real shortcoming of a car worth 12lakhs. Not bad, but u wished you had a litle more. again, fuel economy is excellent for a car of this size and built plus has a powrful Turbo 1.9 litre diesel engine. Also you are recommended to put regular diesel, not the enhanced ones. Overall worth the money 100%.

Great car, difficult to get spare parts. There is a lack of enthusiasm on the part of skoda dealers to service or repair this car. Most of the dealers who sell skoda cars have multiple car agencies, such as Volvo, BMW etc, & their focus is primarily on selling those other vehicles. The distributors of skoda should ensure that only those agencies are hired who's primary interest is in Skoda.

Good interior with sufficient leg space. Sear level is low, so that getting in and out is difficult. The driver feels as if he is at a lower level.

Good engine performanceso far. But the A/C break down at 50,000 km! Break pads lasts for 20, 000 km! Timer belt last for 70, 000 km! The spares are costliest!
Ride Quality & Handling
Good ride quality. Handling is tough as the pedals are stiff enough to cause leg pain, and the steering is also tough.
Final Words
Phased out model sold in India. Service not available for past many months. Car has to be kept in garage because of frequent major breakdowns. Spares at highest cost. Company supports the dealer and not the customer.
