I am Skoda Fabia Owner and I am not sure if this is the right place to make all of you aware about the way I have been treated by Skoda India, but I will still try and spread some awareness about the companies' sales and services. I was sold a Skoda Fabia, but there salesman promising me an Avg of 17 KMPL when I was about to buy a Ford Figo, since I already have a Hyundai I20 and wanted another hatchback (Diesel). I have run Fabia for 15000 kms on highways and in city both but never has it given me an Avg of more then 10 KMPL, when I spoke to there service center, they claim that they never promise an Avg of more than 12KMPL for this car. Anyway, I figure out that there is nothing that I can do now, since I have already bought the car, so I make my piece with the AVG. There were also false promises made by the dealer while selling me the car with regards to the registration book and my Insurance, which only arrived 3 months after I had taken the delivery of my car. (This again, was something I think I should not have depended on Skoda for even though I was promised the same, so I ignore it). Now that the car has done its 15000 Kms, I looked for the service center in Bangalore for its first service, I call them book a pickup and drop for the car, after they take the car, I am told that I need to come to there service centre to sign some documents, Right after finishing my work, I drive to there service center with my another car( Imagine the plight of someone who has one car that Skoda have already picked), to be told that there is no one at the service center and that I should come back tomorrow at 10 AM, wven though before leaving I called them to confirm that I am coming. I am working from 9 to 5 and now I am told to come back again at a time that does not suit me. Why am I given all this grief, because I have bought a Skoda, I just wish I had not bought a Skoda, and also would like advise everyone, who is thinking of buying one, please think a hundred times before buying any car from this company. I own a Maruti Swift and a Hyundai I20 at present, have been an owner of Swfit Desire and A ford fiesta in the past but never ever have a come across such a bad service from any automobile company in India. These guys care so less that I have had to come to a platform (public) like this and spread this word. I am sure nothing with happen after this word as well, but I just wanted to let the other people know of what this company is doing so that they get a heads up of whats in store for them, once they are a Skoda customer..... !

My car Fabia disel version met with an accident on 27.04.2008. The vechicle was brought to your authorised service station at Bangalore on 29th early morning. Till date the car condition remains same. My meeting and telephonic calls which I made N number of times of no use. The workshop is blaming the insurace company and the insurance company is blaming the workshop. In between I am struck and only fault is to buy a Skoda Fabia. The insurance companuy is doubting the bonfide of the authorised service station and their estimate for repair is not accepting. My vacation during school holidays of my children has affected. Our daily transportation in and outside is affected due to poor co-ordination between Insurace company (ICICI Lambort) and the authorised service station (TAFE Bangalore). Now I feel it is Skoda Fabia or Skoda Mafia.
Hence, I request you to look into it and do the needful. I have planned to move to consumer court for the lack of service. My request to send the estimate for repair from the service station is not received even after several reminders.
Hence, I request you to look into it and do the needful.

Through these reviews on Fabia I have read some great comments by those who are not professional reviewers but are those who own the cars and are possessed by the machine. These reviews, I am sure, shape comments of those who are yet to buy these machines for their own personal consumption.
I am keen to buy a Fabia and I am convinced it is a good car, well built, nicely proportioned, backed by German engineering, and all that..Considering I drive more than 100 kilometres a day, I have no option but to buy a car that runs on deisel and I have therefore zeroed in on the 1.4L deisel version for even after running on deisel it has the essential peppiness!!
May I please ask all of you owning Fabia (whether petrol or deisel versions) the following questions:
Is it REALLY worth the price?
Are comparisons with other cars like Suzuki Swift, Hyundai I20 (a magazine even compared it with I10 declaring I10 the winner, that was shocking!!), Honda Jazz, Fiat Grande Punto....justified?
Considering it is, and there a few visible on the road now, not as many as one would expect them to be, then why not this car is a roaring success? I remember, there was a mad rush during booking even before car came out in the market...but then it has slowed down, sales are not as spirited....
I have asked this to Skoda dealers but no one has given a convincing argument.
Anyways, I expect some replies at least to begin with and this may trigger another level of discussions...
I may thank you all in advance for carving out time to write something for me in particular as well as for general readership.

I people ..this is Mk from chennai ,i bought a fabia 1.2 ambinete petrol last week,As part of a dealer discount package i got a full tank of fuel free of cost..The car has now run 319 (AC ON )kilometers and the fuel level indicator has come one notch below reserve mark which has 6 liters of fuel.
assuming that in the that 45 litre tank . consumed petrol is 40 liters it has has hardly given me 7.9 KMs/litre.But its hardly a 1,2 engine and the delaer prmised me a mileage of 12 in the city and 14 in the high ways.please advice

I bought Fabia Amby 1.2 Petrol 4 days back.
I was so much amazed with the tons of features it offers.
I accelerated to 160 kmph with ease. And it could have taken more, but I was impressed with the performance.
Overall, an excellent package. DRIVE it to BELIEVE it.
The BEST in the segment.
