Writing this review after driving for 167 kms.

Exterior

Very good.The USP of the car.

A head turner for sure . 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Good interiors,but some things are missing such as passenger side's hand overhead support,non-retractable rear seatbelts. 

Looks,comfort,nice media-nav system.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

Pickup is good with 4-5 on board,haven't tried with AC on though.

Fuel economy-15-17 in city without ac with 4-5 on board.

Maximum is 16.9km/l in my one week of city driving.

Ride Quality & Handling

Light steering wheel makes it a pleasure to drive on city roads.

Final Words

Car worth buying for those who look for an entry level budget car.

I considered alto as well.Almost bought it but now I am glad that I didn't. :)

Areas of improvement  

Boot space too large,could have given some leg space for rear passengers instead.

No alarm siren system available in the central locking system in the car.

Renault needs to increase their production rate as I received the car after 3.5 months waiting.

Exterior Renault introduced the Hatchback segment to the world it was named 'Renault 4'. Renault kwid marks the recreation of same events that changed the way we see at family cars. Kwid is Stunning and Beautiful.It seems that the front was designed by the French while the rear was designed by Korean's. The front of the kwid resembles that of a sandero and duster while the rear looks to be a close cousin of Hyundai Grand i10.

Overall the car has an appealing and rugged exteriors. The footprint of the car is similar to the Datsun GO so technically its a hatchback that is on steroids and not a proper SUV. The exteriors are well defined and well designed

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The word 'Practical' defines the interiors of new kwid. Space is the luxury that you will love the most. the well contoured front seats and the soft supportive rear bench won't tire you and your family. There are 3 glove boxes in top 3 trims of kwid.

The center console is the most striking part of kwid. the well deigned AC controls and the MediaNav syatem is a great to look at. The Touch screen navigation system steals the show. I did find the touch to be resistive and it was not that great to touch. There was a minor lag while using the infotainment system, but come on its a sub 5 lakh rupee car!!!!!!!😄 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The details will be available soon once i get to drive the car, the car I reviewed was a display model at a local showroom.

But I did start the engine. I noticed an initial vibration which was similar to chevy Beat, the vibration stops once car idles. its a charateristic of 3 cylinder engines, the similar kind of vibration is also present in Alto and Eon.

The engine is truly well refined and sounds sporty, the NVH levels are well contained. Renault has used proper insulating material under the hood.

Final Words Renault Kwid is a car that has the DNA of 'Renault 4', Its a different segment amongst the Hatchbacks. its a car worth Checking out. Its the best thing you can get under 5 lakh rupees.

And Renault Makes reliable cars. the Logan and duster owners swear by their reliablity.

I bought kwid climber in april 2017. And after 1 year my car's battery has dead. This is bullshit. After installing cng kit company representative always blame on cng when any fault being in the car. Average, suspension and overall perfomance of this car is very poor. After one year experience I realized that this car is biggest blunder of my life.

Look and Style

In all the reviews this Vehicle is being compared with Alto, Eon etc..but in terms of exterior appearance and looks Alto ,Eon will not be a comparison at all. Kwid Looks very elegant, bold and very big in size this is very much in par with Santro,i10, Beat, Celerio etc.

Comfort

Steering is very smooth and pleasure to drive. A/C is also pretty good.

 

Mileage

Currently im getting 13 KM/L as per the Digital Instrument cluster in city condition with A/C ON. Ill post you the Mileage once im done with my 1st and 2nd Service.

Best Features

Digital Instrument cluster with Speedo Meter, Gear Change indication, Trip Meter, Total Fuel Burnt, Distance to empty ,Average Mileage indications etc

 

Overall Experience

Real Value for Money. I have gone for RXT Model. single paise which I have spent towards it is worth enough…it is preloaded with everything which are really required in a car in today’s life.. 7” Touch screen system with FM/USB/AUX/Navigation/Bluetooth paring & Calling etc. all these features in very much affordable price.

Exteriormileage and gear shift lever problem

I had purchased a kwid a month before. 

The performance is good at all. Engine at start has more noise than diesel car. (I have an ertiga whose engine sound is not heard when Kwid is on) Pick up is not so good when AC is on. 

At times, the cooling fan is still on, even after switching off the engine and locking the car. This is strange. I never had this in any of the cars

Next is the fuel economy. Renault gives false promise of 25 kmpl and cheat the people. For city ride it doesn't give even 10. 

Another major failure is break. It is very hard and give noise when applying breaks. This is serious concern and a matter of safety issue. I think Renault should look into this very seriously   I am worried now that i have wasted money by buying KWID.    Think twice before going for KWID (Service dealers plays an important role. To that matter, Khivraj/Chennai is worste)  STYLE, EXTERIORSVERY BAD MILEAGE, BREAK SYSTEM

In Aug 2016, I got a used Renault Kwid from a seller who had bought it in Nov 2015. Ever since I bough this 800cc car, I was facing the problem of Hard Clutch. My daily use is 15 kms only.  Now I am facing such a problem that I am not able to use the vehicle even for a 2km ride as a experience pain and unable to walk. Rather, I am scared to drive now.

The company mechanics say that ‘some’ vehicles have such defects. In auto-assembly-line, there is no chance for ‘some’ vehicles having the problem. Every vehicle must be having the problem. We hear lots of complaints of clutch shuddering by Renault Duster buyers. Many have neither complained and some would not have realized that that is a problem. The smoothness of Clutch is so important that it is the main and the only devise that we use extensively while driving. In other words, clutch is the only thing that matters in the mechanics of the vehicle. I am clueless about handling the situation.

Style is okNo value for money. When the clutch is a manufacturing mistake, even their own Mechnics can't help

Worst car in my life, run just 20000 km. Engine stoppage issue while running, wrong fuel indicator, low mileage, poor responds from service Centre See below email which I send to service Centre team Dear, This is in regards to the vehicle plate no: KL 14 T XXXX, the complaint as described below, The vehicle had brought by me in month of dec on 2016, now been 18 month past with mileage of 22000km, I had faced several complaint amongst major was engine stoppage while running. Honestly it is a narrow escape several times from the happening of any fatal incident due to this and Renault has to taken care to solve this permamanatly.

Later it was known to me that this Manafacturing defect was experienced by several people for the Kwid automatic which Renault working to solve this. Then about the the fuel indicator, it is not functioning accurately. The fuel indicator was showing almost empty & when It refilled at a nearby petrol station, the tank got filled for 500 Rs as per the indicator Mostly the issues of this engine stop getting reinstate after take off the key and restarting car after a while.

But for the last time when this issue happened and the engine became motionless and which was not able to restart even after waited for the few minutes. Immediately we had called the kannur service center and the team had arrived at spot after 5 days (in kasaragod) to take the vehicle. By the time we had checked for any chance of oil leakage and which we conveyed to the team arrived from service center and shows the emptied oil for which they had commented that, it’s not about any oil issues but a common of Kwid amutomatic engine issue which can be rectified by taking to service center. In view with above all scenarios.

I request you to treat this issues as on top priority and to rectify the defects of the vehicle under the coverage of warranty. The above matter already emailed to kannur service center, and no replay recieved till the date.

Exterior Initially I like Exterior but after buying kwid the quality of paint is worst, bumper is very poor quality.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is ok ok type. Not up to the mark. Door plastic bad quality its very light.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine sound its feels like drove a auto.. Pick up is like a CNG car. Vibration on gear lever all the time.. in between 80-90 kmph car vibrate. When car AC is on car acceleration stop working.. Car stopped & loked still AC fan working.

Ride Quality & Handling When u drive like 60-70 kmph & take a turn its leave road & feel like it will topple.

Final Words If u planning to buy renault kwid pls dont buy its a waste of money suggest u buy another car. After sales service is also worst I have given my kwid 8 times to service center but most of the problem remains same.

Areas of improvement Banned to Sale.

Too bad in fuel Economy, Pickup is worst like a CNG carVery less leg space. quality of interior is too Bad

Exterior Mini Duster has born now. Nice & Decent look. 180mm Ground Clearance is too much.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very comfortable, Spacious & Decent interiors.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is Very good I will not say Excellent if you compare with Alto K10 or Wagon Rm Renault Engines are much superior in this segment. Alto 800 & Kwid 800 are same in engine performance. You will not hear any noise in 1.0L engine if you compare with 800cc engine of Kwid.

Ride Quality & Handling Riding & handling quality is perfect, you will not feel tired after driving 500 kms in a day!

Final Words Waiting for Renault AMT, Climber & Racer Edition to be launch soon!! Those who have given 2 or 3 stars i would like to inform them that "No one is Perfect in this World", it takes ages to reach at this level. I am a Swift Owner & i still say that Renault are the French Car Maker in the World & they have the world best technology in terms of Engineering which Korean & Japanese doesn't have.

Areas of improvement The only Areas of improvement is needed in Interior. These days many car makers are giving mix colored dashboard with dual tone Black & Beige Colour or some other option. Another new variant RXZ to be introduced where company should be giving Alloy Wheels with Rear Power Window.

Exterior, Mini Duster, Alloys, Touch Screen System, Smooth Gear, Space, Good Fuel economy,Gear Knob is so dull, No Power Window at rear.
