Exterior If you will decide to buy a car from external looks, DUSTER will make you stop and think for sure. The nice looking rear with chrome DUSTER written, the classy wavy alloy wheels and the front grills, from all angles, DUSTER looks good, if not great. The only thing I didnt like is the door handles, which are silver in colour and feels cheap. Also, having driven some very well built european cars, the door thud wasnt impressive enough for me. However, overall, the build quality didnt look that bad, but I expected another 100-150 kgs of meat in the SUV. Very nice ground clearnace, great looking alloys and also the side view of the cars gives youa nice cute feel for this SUV. The rear view mirros are too small for a better view, could have been bigger.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Its a let down. Suddenly, from a classy EUROPEAN, CUTE yet mean SUV from exterior, you sink into an average to say the least interior quality. Even the leather seats are a big compromise. Barring the centre console which houses the CD plater, USB port and radio, the overall dash borad is of cheap plastic. The power window switches are also just average. However, I liked the wood finish door handles and the chrome used in the interior. I am surprised to see the ORVM's control switch put just below the hand brakes, which are a big pain to operate when the hand brakes are down. The steering has no telescopic function. The driving position is GOOD, but the height adjustment of the driver's seat is very ODD, as you have to get up to adjust the height. There is no arm rest and the rear AC vent feels of very poor quality. The glove box has a light to fish things at night, but no cooler inside. Also the sun visors are just average. The rear seats have good space, and I felt its strictly for 4 adults and 1 child. This is because the centre passenger has a big discomfort of sitting in the centre, as not only the HUMP on the floor will bother him but also the rear AV vent unit is too much bulged into the rear passnger side. So centre passenger will have to keep one leg each side of the AC vent unit, which in my opinion is ODD. Boot space is good with a cover tray. The tail gate opens to the top and is intergrated to the central locking of the car. The Key unit is also pretty sleek with keyless entry option. Also, to menion, the central locking switch is oddly placed near the centre console but, its better placed than the ORVM mirror control switch. No climate control AC and no digital control. It should have been a MUST for a SUV which will cost 14 lacs on road Mumbai.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The 110 horse DCi engine is refined. PERIOD. I even asked once to the guy taking me around, if this a DIESEL engine. The gear shift couldnt have been better. The gear ratios are fairly placed and doesnt feel rubbery at all. The steering response is very good. The seating postiion is also failry OK. The leather wrapped steering wheel feel is kind of OK. No steering control for any of the controls, but the head light controls are given like the paddle shift given in some of the automatic cars. The second grear, after few revvs, pulls and feels very refined. The engine is adequate in my opinion. Any more power is welcome and needed more for drag racers. At times, in the low revvs, the second gear feels suggish, till it gathers enough torque to pull. When it does, it does well. On low speed, the engnie behaves very well. Overall, I was fairly satisfied with the adequate engine.
Ride Quality & Handling The car's suspension is very well adjusted keeping Indian roads in mind. The care rode very well and drove like a small car. Even reversing and parking the car was very smooth. I took the car on some of the real pot holed laden roads of Mumbai and a strech of 500 meters. The SUV didnt give a feel of anything below the car being on the pot holed laden roads. It passed that test with flying colours. High ground clearnace and 215 profile tyres gives it a good ride quality. Overall, the handling was superb and the ride was quite good. Didnt see te high speed stability, as didnt get the channce to drive beyond 100kmph, but get a feeling that, the car will behave fairly well.
Final Words Its a GOOD LOOKING SUV, which rides and handles very well. Its 2 X 4, hence its practical for city and highway drive. It has adequate power and if the claimed mileage is achieved, then its FUEL EFFICIENT as well. If you can live with the interiors and scaled down features like no climate control AC, no steering control and things like that, and dont want to spend beyond 14 lacs, this can be your first off roader.

Exterior Excellent looks, from back side vehicle looks very butiful, its look like a military car, strong enough to make its own road, overall car looks buitiful.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
1) Light illumination on music system and on odometer is very immpressive.
2) Sound quality of music system is good enough.
3) Music system is very intelligent, in few seconds it connects to your phone and you can receive and answer all calls from system with best sound quality, as well as you can make calls too.
4) Inside plastic is very sturdy, plastic polish vaxpol enhances its quality further more.
5) Space beteen the front and rear seats is sufficient, front seats are very comfortable.
6) Storage space is ok.
7) found nothing bad to say about it.
8) Very reach feel inside the cabin.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I drove for about 1200 kms so far, fuel economy is 16.1 km/l @ avg speed is 25 km/h, I did two long drives that is pune to nashik and pune to lavasa, on h-ways it runs like a horse, while moving in bumper to bumper traffic need to shift more on second and first gear at lower speeds, its obvious but it needs lower gears. Its responding better in agressive mood, slow moving traffic tends to tired driver. When you move to gear five then it runs better when you shift above 50.
In petrol what you can do with gear third the same way fifth to third is working here too.
Gear are bit hard to shift unless full cluch. But this phenomena runs in overall operatios and handling, long runs make drivers littlebit more tired you can say about 5%, but the other passengers are more comfortable too.
Ride Quality & Handling One of the best in world, but no zig zag driving. Dosenot suits to vehicle.
Final Words World class vehicle.
Areas of improvement Gear 2 should have more torque.

Exterior Smart outlook. Looks very solid. With a 7 seater option Duster shall be a winner. When one is looking for a SUV to Sedan - 7 seater is a must. With out 7 seater option it defeats to be called SUV.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) There are rooms for improvments. Rear seat leg room is dissapointing. Huge boot soace has spoiled the seating comfort. You have less room and your laugage has enough room space. By reducing boot space if Duster can have 7 seater then this is going to be the winner. Front seat arm rest is missing.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine sound seems very smooth. Fuel economy best in class.
Ride Quality & Handling Enjoyed test drive.
Final Words More point of service shall bring in confidence.
Areas of improvement Duster has to be a 7 seater to be a winner. It is possible and just a decession away by Renault. If 7 seater option is comming, I may decide for Quanto only because it is 7 seater.

Exteriors Duster looks quite aggressive from front, okish from sides & submissive from rear. Tail lights need a makeover. Overall its exteriors are new & refreshing. Double beam front head-lights look great & original bulbs are adequate in terms of distance illumination.
Interiors (Features, Space & Comfort) Front passengers are fine for leg room, but rear leg room is cramped. Rear AC vent - what's this all about, looks like a weird plastic fitment post purchase, only exists in RxZ variant. Base 2 variants are completely devoid of all safety features like ABS, EPS, airbags, etc. Interior designing team needs a kick for following:
1. Boot is seriously huge, & rear leg room is cramped.
2. Rear AC vent is obnoxious.
3. Media controls are placed, where they can't be accessed at all.
4. Side mirror controls also can't be accessed when hand-brake is down.
5. ICE is quite out-dated & looks sad. Buttons are not easy to use & press, & give that awkward 'tik-tik' sound, that one doesn't want to hear.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy & Gearbox From Indian Automobile Market point of view, fuel economy is PERFECT. City mileage with AC is 15-16 kmpl & 18-19 on highways. Gearbox & gear shifts are smooth & aptly placed (even for female drivers). Engine performance, 85 PS (200 Nm) is under-powered, but 110 PS (248 Nm) rectifies it. Both variants do suffer from a lag till about 1500 rpm, post that, power & pick up seems fine. Both diesel engine variants seem fine for city driving & non-power & non-turbo enthusiasts. You definitely need a turbo & a 4 x 4 if you have some mountaineering to do.
Ride Quality & Handling I was overwhelmed by overall ride quality of Duster. It’s great, in a word. I took it over pot-holes, speed brakers, off-road, etc. & its suspension worked decently, with very little / no bumps felt. Handling is good, steering wheel is quite exact & tyre movements are well synchronised. Obviously, Duster isn't as precise as a Honda Civic, but then again, machine works well & rides better than well.
Final Words Well, Renault Duster is first car in this price segment & this Mini-SUV segment, & is doing quite well too. Value For Money is what I must say. 110 PS engine is good but then it’s a little more expensive as well. The 85 PS Diesel Engine RxL variant makes max sense.
Areas of improvement
1. Bookings -- Renault is currently very unprofessional with their bookings of Duster. All dates / time lines are overshot. Renault currently is not capable enough of producing number of Dusters already booked, & sticking to time given to their customers.
2. Engine point of view - more power, a 4 x 4, a turbo-charged engine required.
3. Interior quality of plastics need to be improved.
4. Rear AC vent should be removed / placed above, along with roof.
5. Media controls & ORVM (outside-rear-view-mirrors) controls should be placed appropriately.
6. Rear passenger leg room should be increased & boot space could be reduced a little, some tuning over there is most definitely required.
7. ICE console should be replaced with a one that is more innovative & up-market.
9. More number of service stations should be opened & at appropriate locations.
10. RENAULT & NISSAN should stop fooling Indian Automobile buyers & have different diesel engines for different cars. Currently, Nissan Micra, Nissan Sunny, Renault Pulse, Renault Scala, Renault Fluence & Renault DUSTER are all powered by same diesel 1461 cc engine, which is frankly quite annoying. If Renault can power 4 teams (8 cars) for Formula-1 races, I think they can definitely have different engines for different cars. Nissan & Renault have same manufacturing unit in Chennai, & they are even using same platform for their cars. For example, Nissan Sunny, Renault Scala & Renault Duster share same base platform.

Exterior Very beatiful sweet lookin caar.. you will fall in love with this 1..it luks gud 4m every angle u luk at it
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Climate control is missing even in the top model..features are just ok.leg room iss not that generous if u think of an SUV! Good at comfort.. Driver lumbar support is gud!
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Though engine power is only110 ps.. but itzz so light weight..itzz power output iss gud enough.
Ride Quality & Handling Best in class ride. u'll flyy over bumps. n handling iss very car like..very straight n precise steering.
Final Words It has come like a new breeze in this segement...and is better than Safari n scorpio in many areas.. but looses in terms of space! You can buy it if u mostly self drive n dont have a big family..Only then u ll get the most off it
Areas of improvement Climate control n some more features is wot it needss.

Exterior Stunning looks, good shaping
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very spacious interiors. Comfortable seating. Interior finish looks very appealing, Very good boot space. I liked the angling of the rear seats.. I think it has been done with multiple thoughts of seating comfort on one side and increasing the boot space on the other side. This has come out very nice.
The AC vent (with control knobs) on the rear looked very handy and useful though I am not sure on whether this is limited to higher variants only.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox GearBox is smooth. Fuel Economy that my uncle was saying was around 14kmpl but it is too early to predict now as he has done only 1000kms now.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride Quality is very good. Handling is very easy and comfortable and one won't feel like driving an SUV, One would more feel like driving a Sedan.
Final Words An excellent choice. Value for Money. Excellent choice in this budget range.
Areas of improvement Engine sound could be refined.

Nice test drive experience. I love the exterior looks, no doubt Duster stands out the best in its segment. The woodland brown color looks great. With the exterior I have only one complaint why same silver colour mirror has given all versions. It would be good if interior part would have more space. Fuel efficiency is awesome. I love this car’s pickup power. They have used very cheap plastic for the dashboard. Handling power is very good. Nice SUV in this price range, you cannot expect any more. Duster is good with Safety, looks, and driving pleasure, this is lacking only inn comfort.
Final Words I surely bought this one, if interior can improve with back side blower position.
Areas of improvement Interiors and space utilisation needs to be improved urgently. They have made the car too light weight to improve the mileage, but what about the safety. Doors make a lot of noise.
Exterior looks, fuel efficiency.Less interior space, used cheap plastic for the dashboardExterior/Styles

Exterior A nice looking SUV.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Comforatable seating , good head rest, sufficient leg space.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is good. But once you reach 100km speed you feel bit slow to take to 130 or more.
Ride Quality & Handling Very good in highways and rough roads. Like the driving in hill station roads. Good control over vechicle. Easily you can drive in average of 90kms in any mountain roads.
Final Words I booked my vehicle during the lauch day and got delivery on Aug 14th 2012. I had a good experience from Bangalore dealer and really satisfied with their service. After sales team also really helfull in case of any emergencies. The only thing I observed was ,all show rooms in Banglore were over crowded, thats why they were not getting enough time to spend with each and every customer.
Areas of improvement Quality of wiper blades are not upto the mark. Central locks now requires manual intervension to get it locked. It should be automatic. Little more strong body.

Exterior A very beautiful and muscular very good front view and great looking alloy wheels and head lamps are excellent NO DOUBT FROM EXTERIOR IT IS UNBEATABLE
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I think features are not much value for money no start/stop button, no climate control, audio system is not very good no reverse camera.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gear box: duster is engine which gives sufficient mileage but lacks punch of an suv its pick up is less than fiats multijet engine the mileage in city is 14 and highway is 16[approx] and the clutch is hard to press compared to ther cars
Ride Quality & Handling The ride quality is very nice and handling is very nice but renaults service has to be improved.
Final Words If u can adjust in pickupand some features the car is excellent for any road
Areas of improvement Interiors should have richer look engines pick upand gear transmission has to be improved.

Exterior😄
Very good and very masculine. Impressive looks both from Front and Side, kind of muted looks in the back.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)😊
Just OK could have been better for the money we pay. More platic and looks cheap. The Bluetooth in the dash is very whimsical and pairs with the phone randomly. Acoustics is bad and when the car system is used for calls there is echo
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox😄
Brilliant and the high point of teh vehicle. Have done three long driver and extremely versatile engine and give a good performance over the entire range of speed. Best engine I have seen ( I have owned 6 vehicles and this is the best). Smooth most of the time don't realize the turbo kicking in.
Ride Quality & Handling😊
Excellent with good head room and leg room. Seats are not ergonomically designed. Front seats could have got more side rib support ( similar to 120). Very good in long drives, left leg foot rest next to the Clutch would have relived teh stress in the left foot ( something similar to 120)
Final Words😊
Worth the money. If you are looking for a affordable SUV with proven performance go for this.
Areas of improvement
Fragile sheetmetal, Dash board can be more upmarket and the gear can be a little more easy to use. Delears are a big problem as they are in a sellers market they are very rough and inflexible.
Great Looks and good ride. I have done 10000 Kms and the vehicle is a driver dream.Body is a bit fragile and gets dented very easily and mileage is inconsistent.Exterior/Styles
