German automobile marquee Porsche was founded in 1931 by Ferdinand Porsche. Headquartered in Stuttgart, the Volkswagen Group owned brand manufactures SUV, sedans and sports cars. The Indian arm of the company was founded in 2004.
Porsche currently imports its range of products for the Indian market via the CBU route. The current model range includes the Macan, Cayenne, 718, 911 and the Panamera. The company is also expected to add the Taycan and the Cayenne Coupe to this range soon. Porsche India has eight showrooms located in regions including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata and Mumbai.
Porsche unveiled its first fully electric model, known as the Taycan, at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. The model is available in two variants including Turbo and Turbo S. The model is expected to be launched in India by the end of 2019.
