THE WROUGHT-IRON BEETLE
The iconic Volkswagen Beetle comes in a huge range of popular styles. But this version is completely unique, having been stripped back and covered with a unique wrought-iron body. It might not be a practical design considering constant weather changes and all, but it sure makes heads turn.

THE CATHEDRAL
Artist Rebecca Caldwell in 2000. It's called the Carthedral, a vintage hearse transformed into a gothic cathedral. Caldwell welded a Volkswagen Beetle body to the top of the hearse, giving it height and they sculpted the entire cathedral around this form. The car’s black exterior only emphasises the purpose it was built for. But surely leaving the world in this grand manner should be a solace.

THE SIR VIVAL CAR
Walter C. Jerome of Worcester, Massachusetts had set out to build the world’s safest car. Probably that is where the car gets its name ‘SIR VIVAL (survival). The car did get famous but not for its intended purpose but as one of the world’s strangest cars. Primarily concerned with head-on collisions, Jones split his car in two, hoping the front section would absorb collisions, leaving the passenger cabin untouched. Using a heavily modified 1948 Hudson sedan as a rear section, he built a raised turret to provide the driver with maxium visbility, a goal he furthered with a 360 degree wrap-around screen that constantly rotated past built-in squeegees to wipe it clean. The Sir Vival boasts of seat belts, a padded interior, and built-in roll bars.

SNAKESKIN CAR
This one can be seen by only the bravest and those who don’t get their hair standing on an end when they see a snake. As the name suggests, the Smart for four car comes with a snakeskin paint job and the occasional snake slithering over it. You can say, it definitely makes an impression.
