The Lamborghini Gallardo is a low slung, two-seater supercar designed for outright speed and sporty handling, so watching it tear up a dirt track well outside its comfort zone makes for an oddly satisfying viewing.
While the real purpose of hooning a Gallardo over such rough surface is still unknown, the description on the video does shed some light. Turns out, the guys over at Brakim Racing (as seen on YouTube), are to build a Gallardo-based rally car. The description further talks about their plan to put in a roll cage and rebuild the 500bhp-plus V10 engine.
The Gallardo, as we know, is now defunct. In its place is Lamborghini’s latest offering – the Huracan. While the latter comparatively is a more rounded performer with improved performance and better handling, it is worth nothing that the Gallardo has turned out to be the best selling Lamborghini of all time, with over 14,000 units sold since its inception in 2003.
