Nurburgring lap times, unarguably, are a big deal among supercar makers. So big, in fact, carmakers now go to great lengths just to shave that one tenth of a second off the lap time; case in point being Lamborghini which has just released a full video of the new Aventador SV going very fast around the Nurburgring.
The SV is the hardcore, more powerful version of the Aventador. Housing a 6.5-litre V12 engine that produces no less than 740bhp, the Aventador SV is one of the fastest Lamborghinis ever made.
With a lap time of 6min and 59sec, the Aventador SV has just nicked under the magical 7 minute barrier, however, the bigger achievement is the fact that it’s only about 2 seconds slower than the Porsche 918 Spyder – a hypercar packing a lot more technology and three electric motors backing its petrol engine.
Scroll down and watch the Aventador SV tear down the Nurburgring under the mythical 7 minute barrier.
