This is something you don’t see every day. And for once, the cliché indeed is true because what you’re about to see here is a Formula 1 car getting fired up – not just any other machine from the current F1 grid but one that has sat idle for 12 years.
The car in question is a 1997 Arrows A18 powered by a Yamaha V10 engine. Piloted by British racing driver Damon Hill, this very car went on to clinch second place in the 1997 Hungarian Grand Prix. It’s a fairly special occasion, then, watching it come to life after 12 long years, albeit with quite a few thick puffs of smoke!
