The Aston Martin DB9 might be reserved for Daniel Craig once he slips into the role of James Bond, but his adversary also gets a delicious set of wheels, the Jaguar C-X75, to make the chase interesting.
Created to celebrate 75 years of Jaguar, Project C-X75, has been advertised as the most advanced Jaguar ever made. This car was not intended for production and the company has made it known that the concept will be used for continuing research and development of future Jaguar technologies.
In terms of structure, carbon-fiber, drawn from Motorsports technology is used in the chassis and this creates an incredibly lightweight yet rigidly strong structure.
Well, the movie franchisee owners sure have worked up quite a deal with Jaguar to get this concept off the ice. The car is now being worked upon by engineers to make it suitable for filming.
Autocar has reported that for production purposes the C-X75 will be fitted with Jaguar's supercharged 5.0-litre V8, instead of using its existing 850bhp hybrid powertrain.
Like Aston Martin has a connection with the Bond films, Jaguar too has often lent them a set of wheels, especially for the villains. In the 2006 version of Casino Royale, for example, both the XJ8 and XJR make appearances. A Jaguar XKR also starred prominently in 2002's Die Another Day, battling Bond's Aston Martin Vanquish.
What do you think of the Bond villain’s new ride? Let us know.
