Video: Car explodes but the driver wins the race

Fire! One word that none of us would like to be associated with. The word not only scares us but sometime also proves fatal. But there are few people in this world who not only beat it but can also win a race with their tails on fire(literally!).  Meet Jack Beckman – a national hot rod association racer, who not only survived a race car that burst into huge ball of flames but also won that race.

Half-way through this qualifying run on Thursday, an explosion destroyed his Dodge’s bodywork. He was close to 480kmph when this incident happened. Jack went on to win the race with a 4.117-second ETA at 439kmph. Fortunately, Jack didn’t suffer any injuries and is all set to compete in his next race.
