A pre-owned low mileage car would fetch a premium when it is put up for sale, but not more than when it was new unless it falls in the classic/vintage category, Right? Well, there are exceptions and in this case a sparingly driven classic Mini fetches more than its value when new.
The owner of this Mini brought it 20 years ago and in its whole lifetime the car accumulated just 148 miles on the odometer. Ron Frost, the owner who bought it new, drove it home from the showroom when new which was about 120 miles, post that the car has been driven only 28 miles.
Frost said, ‘When we bought it, it was the latest model and it was brand new.’
‘She was the first model to have alloy wheels as well.'
‘Even the oil in the sump is the very same oil from 20 years ago.’
In its lifetime this vehicle has been only washed twice and kept in a safe parking. Only three drivers have ever fired it to life. David Hollis of the British Mini Club said the car is worth upto £7,000 now. The car was priced at £5800 when new.
