This video will surely come as music to your ears. It is because, it is music created from cars. Some of you what might say what’s new about this? True, nothing new, but when you hear good music, it should be shared. And what’s special about this is that three BMWs have produced this.
So that’s what we are doing here today, sharing this amazing piece of music created by three BMW cars, with a little help from Timothy Fairless, a Brisbane-based composer and multi-instrumentalist who processes acoustic, electronic and environmental sources to create music.
The cars used in the video are the BMW 428i Coupe, an F10 520d Sedan and an F15 X5 xDrive30d. Fairless created this music for a commercial for Motorline BMW, a dealership in Daisy Hill, Queensland, Australia.
The disclaimer at the end of the video says, ‘No musical instruments were used in the making of this video.’ So how is this possible then? Well, the 4 Series’s door slam, close or seat belt adjustment sound for example or the sound the voice control system inside the 5 Series makes for voice samples and the X5, on the other hand, provided the engine start sound, the tailgate close and seat belt warning chime to the mix.
Feeling creative? In case you are trying the same with your cars, do remember to share. We are all ears.
