Going full throttle in a supercar is a very exhilarating experience, especially with the launch control system turned on. However, trying out the launch control on public roads can end up with horrifying consequences, especially when the driver isn’t used to the enormous burst of power that comes complementary. This video shows us what happens when inexperienced drivers are handed the keys of powerful supercars.
The owner of this brand new Corvette Z06, which came with the optional Z07 package and stage 3 Aero kit, engaged the launch control before flooring the throttle and dumping the clutch. While things seem pretty fine for the first few seconds, things go bad as soon the driver shifts into the second gear. Well though it is pretty obvious that supercars aren’t meant to wander off the smooth tarmac, the driver of the Corvette couldn’t handle the sudden burst of power, causing the car to veer off the road and crash into the trees.
Luckily, the driver escaped the crash without any serious injuries, though the same cannot be said about the Corvette. The car’s front end seems to have taken some serious damage, and it might be a while before the owner gets a chance to try out the launch control once again. Well, at least the owner now has enough time to go through the car’s user manual and completely understand how the launch control works.
