Hidden away for more than 25 years, an incredibly original Jaguar E-Type V12 is set to see the light of day once again when it goes under the hammer next month in an auction in the UK. The V12-powered Series 3 E-Type, in fact, was registered way back in 1973 and yet, it was scarcely used and ended up spending much of its early life in a garage.
Rather interestingly, in April 1993 ownership passed onto the son of the first owner yet, the E-Type still gathered dust in the same garage. However, it was properly immobilised and oil put into the cylinders. Thirteen years later, it was given a full service in October 2006 and once again kept in the storage.
Wind the clock forward to the present day and the dust covered car is now heading to the Silverstone circuit for the auction next month, with an estimated value of anywhere between £75,000 (Rs 70 lakh) and £90,000 (Rs 84 lakh).
Having been used so little the roadster has covered just over 7,700 miles (12,391km) from new and remains essentially as delivered from Jaguar’s Coventry factory. Let’s just hope this highly original, low mileage example finds a loving home soon.
