The world is full of surprises, just when we thought supercar cabs were cool, a Russian has launched an armoured vehicle as a cab. The vehicle, a BRDM-2 is an amphibious armoured vehicle that will ferry passengers on the streets of St.Petersburg.
It seems like the authorities turned down the idea by declining to grant the owner a permit. However, the owner didn’t call it a day and after a long crusade finally got a green signal. With the permission also came a set of conditions that left the tank painted in red instead of its military camouflage.
The turret machine gun on the top of the tank has been deactivated so that the driver doesn’t blow the vehicle in front if he doesn’t give way.
Well, how much do you have to shell for a single ride, you ask? It will cost Rs 5,602 (5000 rubles) for a single ride. For that much money you can hire a Mercedes-Benz E-Class for four hours in the metro cities of India. But, imagine the thrill of climbing through the top of the armoured vehicle with the deactivated gun turret making way for you to get inside the cabin.
