Porsche has its hands full, with lawsuits being heaped upon it left, right and centre. In 2013, Paul Walker, an actor in the Fast and Furious movie franchise, and his racing driver friend Roger Rodas had been involved in a high-speed crash which led to their death. The car, they were driving was the Porsche 2005 Carrera GT.
Initially, it was Walker’s daughter Meadow, who filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche claiming that the 2005 Carrera GT Walker died in had specific design flaws that contributed to his untimely demise. While that case is still being fought, the American actor’s father has now thrown a new lawsuit against the automaker. He claims that certain safety features in the car could have saved his son’s life. He cited that a stability control system, side-door reinforcements and a breakaway fuel line to help prevent the car from bursting into flames after a collision would have helped Walker survive.
The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages. The car company has denied in other lawsuits, including one filed by the actor's daughter, that it is responsible for Walker's death.
