The annoying traction nannies in cars are there for a reason, if not to stop the enthusiasts from going overboard but at least for the unskilled to keep the car in one piece. A BMW M4 driver in California burnt his fingers when he buried the loud pedal into the carpet with dynamic stability control (DSC) switched off.
The incident happened at an event – Cars & Coffee in Blackhawk and it has been caught on camera. It shows a Sakhir Orange M4 veering off its line like a snake chasing its prey and heading into a divider and jumping off it.
The driver has come out in his defence in a popular BMW blog where he explains he had switched off the DSC and his tyre pressure was not optimum.
However, the damage is done and while the driver drove off in the video, the car might have some minor damages. He is lucky as there weren’t too many cars around or the damage might have been big.
