Mercedes-Benz organises classic car rally

Celebrating a century  manufacturing cars is a great thing whereas the same number associated with motorsports presence is something greater. Mercedes-Benz organised a classic car rally to commemorate 120 years of Motorsports heritage. 

The rally also celebrated Mercedes-Benz’s first ever FIA F1 ‘World Constructor’s Championship’ victory, and was flagged off from NCPA by Eberhard Kern, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India. 

The drive saw classic Mercedes vehicles like W110, W111, Fintails, W108 and a few W120s. Modern classics like the W124 also managed to grab some attention at the show. Also present were a fleet of noise-making beasts from the AMG range - SLS AMG, CLA 45 AMG, GL55 AMG and the GLA 45 AMG. 

Speaking on the occasion, Eberhard Kern, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, stated, “Motorsport is fascinating and fun. Its energy, excitement and ever-changing narrative delights millions. Motorsport also brings people together – in peace and transcending all national borders. Mercedes-Benz’s 120 Years of Motorsport history showcases a unique kaleidoscope of glittering success in different motor racing categories.”

"Our celebration today is even more special because this year Mercedes-Benz has won its first FIA F1 ‘World Constructor’s Championship. This victory is an outcome of years of hard work, unsurpassable commitment and technological prowess by our team of engineers’, he added.
