The Rich Kids of Instagram have another toy on wheels to flaunt. No, it isn’t a diamond-encrusted luxury car, but this is close enough. Land Rover brought to the Frankfurt Motor Show, the Defender Pedal Car, one of the cutest cars in the market (I thought I would never say this! JLR makes anything but cute cars). Personally, it reminds me of a more elaborate version of Noddy’s toy car with leather-trimmed bells and whistles.
The Defender Pedal Car will set you back by a cool 10,000 pounds (Rs 10.19 lakh) but it will be an ideal gift for your seven-year-old tyke. It could be used by him when he goes out with his friends to his mini golf course. I believe we can already see Kanye West and Kim Kardashian get this for North West as one of her numerous birthday gifts. The car can be pedaled by children of all ages. Christmas is going to be expensive this year.
Think about it. For this kind of money, in India, one can buy a well-sorted premium hatchback. It will keep your little tyke busy and off your hands for a while. And if you think this is too much money to spend on your children, then it can always be part of your car collection.
A Land Rover spokesman said: “With production of current Defender now in its final phase, the unique pedal car represents a fitting tribute to the one of the world’s most iconic vehicles.”
