Santa Claus has reason to rejoice this Christmas. Jaguar Land Rover decided to update his age-old trusty sleigh to a slightly more modern contraption called, the F-Sleigh.
Since St Nick will be busy distributing gifts to all the good boys and girls next weekend, JLR wants to make sure he does it in style. The ice-sculpture carries some of the distinct features of the Jaguar F-Type convertible. The F-Sleigh shows the same elongated bonnet, the sleek headlights and taillights that are a signature of the Jaguar’s feline intensity. Now the design of the F-Type, as you all know, is one of car designer Ian Callum’s favourites and he has received some awards for it as well.
Being mindful of Rudolph and rest of the reindeer pack, JLR has equipped this sleigh with skates (wheels are so passe). Antlers (so that Santa does not feel homesick) attached to the windscreen pillars and a red nose that's embossed with the Jaguar logo and mounted on the front of the sleigh complete the Christmas theme. So while the reindeer gang gets to munch on some moss, Santa Claus will exit the North Pole on a sleigh that gets two jet engines to do the gift delivering in a jiffy.
Sadly, we are yet to see a life-size model of this new hi-tech sleigh but JLR made sure we have something to look forward to. So, they released a sketch and also exhibited an ice-sculpture of the F-Sleigh at the London Edition Hotel, to help celebrate the launch of the 2016 merchandise collections from JLR.
While it would have been a treat to get to see the F-Sleigh on Christmas, we think JLR is living the season’s spirit (no pun intended). So do you like Santa’s new toy? Let us know below.
