This could be the possible explanation behind an extremely effective billboard advertising stunt they pulled in Australia. It promises to make the Porsche owner look good among the other cars on the road and also cause some envy.
Billboards can be a huge nuisance on highways and especially busy connecting roads. But advertisers know how well these roads carry traffic and milk it for all its worth. Be it a skimpily clad model asking you to buy a perfume or a buff-looking model displaying a latest line of jeans, the distractions are never enough. Well, our focus today is how Porsche’s team used a billboard to point out to their customers and other car owners that driving a Porsche makes one stand out. On a busy road leading to the Melbourne Airport in Australia, the team has put up a billboard, which through sensing technology and help of cameras will be able to identify any Porsche car coming towards it. A camera, 320-odd yards ahead of the billboard, scans the flow of traffic, trained to pick out Porsches among the numerous other cars. When a Zuffenhausen sporting machine is detected, the digital billboard switches to the custom-tailored message for 10 seconds. It reads, “It’s easy to pick you out in a crowd.”
The billboard's fine taste in German automobiles will only be activated for five days starting on January 10th. So those of you who are headed Down Under for this period, could see this for themselves. We are sure this is one billboard, you will not mind staring at.
