A scene from the popular movie Gone in 60 seconds shows how a car thief steals a Porsche from a dealership. It seems like a Volkswagen Group dealer in Germany has been an unfortunate victim of such a theft. In a bizarre act the thief or a bunch of them (we don’t know) took off with the wheels of the vehicles parked there.
This theft took place during the night between Thursday and Friday last week when at least five Audi A1s, a Seat Leon hatchback, Leon ST and four Tiguans lost their wheels. In all, 11 vehicles were sitting without wheels but how did they jack up these vehicles? According to rumours the distressed dealer has offered a reward of Euro 5,000 to anyone who helps the cops trace the thieves. There is no information on whether they also shut the security cameras before snapping those wheels.
Imagine the plight of a dealer who comes back to find wheels missing from his vehicles in his yard. Will someone write a movie on thieves who steal the wheels. We even have a catchy title for the film-WHEELS.
