Driving a gold-plated car anywhere in the world is no easy affair, but parking one in your living room surely will be a relaxing one. A third-scale replica of a gold-plated Aston Martin DB5 made for the iconic James Bond movie Goldfinger will soon be auctioned for charity.
The scale model created by prop-makers Propshop, is plated with 24-carat gold. It is a scale model like no other and it has a few tricks up its sleeves. Apart from the glittering metal finish, it features a radio-controlled machine gun, revolving license plates and a bullet-proof shield just like the car in the movie. Asking for too much would be the ejector seat that the car featured in the movie, but it sure gets a signature by Sir Ken Adam, production designer. He is the man who made the Q brand modifications to the DB5.
The scale model will be auctioned by Christie’s and is expected to fetch between USD 66,000 – 1,00,000 (Rs 40 – Rs 60 lakh).
