What do you do when you need an electric scooter charged up the next day for a morning shoot, but you can’t find a vacant electric socket in the ground floor of your building. Well, shoving the scooter into an elevator and taking it home didn’t seem like the best idea, but sometimes when you run out of options, you just have to do it.
With the month end coming up, a few of my colleagues and I recently had to stay back in the office till quite late. So we all decided to crash at Venkat’s place for the night, with my colleagues somehow managing to convince me that we would easily find an electric socket in Venkat’s building. Though once we got there, there wasn't a single vacant electric socket in sight. When we asked the security guard for a socket to plug the Photon, he simply shrugged his shoulders and pointed towards a lone socket which had the building’s intercom system plugged in.
Now we were in a dilemma, as riding the Photon throughout the way in its 'Power' mode had brought the battery needle very close to E. This meant that I couldn’t ride it back home without the risk of getting stranded by the side of the road. So the only option left with us was getting the Photon inside the building’s lift and taking it to Venkat’s house to get it charged. While we do say that we had no other option left, there always was a small imp inside me who wanted to do something like this ever since I got hold of the scooter. The security guard did protest against the idea, though we made him ‘an offer he couldn’t refuse’.
We somehow managed to steer the Photon into the elevator and take it to the fifth floor. When we rang the door bell, Venkat’s expressions clearly showed that a scooter was the last thing he expected to see on his doorstep. I’m sure there is a ‘knock knock’ (or rather, a beep beep) joke here somewhere. I’ll eventually figure it out. So we finally found an unused socket to charge the Photon and the next morning, it was ready for its next brief journey.
