I am not quite happy writing about this but as a responsible journalist, it is my job to let the world know about it. One of the world’s best hypercars, the McLaren P1 crashed in the United States. The driver and the co-passenger were lucky to escape the single car crash with minor injuries but unfortunately the same cannot be said for the car.
There are not many details on this incident but it looks like the right side and rear of the P1 has suffered huge damage, which sadly could be beyond repair. What started as a happy jaunt for a 27-year-old man ended in disaster. The car, he was driving, was incidentally delivered just 24 hours before the fateful crash. The driver appears to have lost the control of the vehicle and smashed into the guardrail. If you look closely, one entire area of the guardrail is broken.
The McLaren P1 has been valued at $1 million. It is equipped with a plug-in electric motor mated to a turbo-charged V8 engine, producing more than 900hp. It has a top speed of 217 mph and what makes it a bigger deal is that the P1 has a production run of only 375 cars.
