Walter Röhrl is one of the most accomplished rally drivers and at the age of 67 he can still teach the new crop of rally drivers a lesson or two. In a video released by team EKSRX, he is seen in action driving around the Estering circuit, Germany in an Audi S1 EKS RX Quattro. Won’t it be exciting if a modern race driver drives the same car on the same track. Well, it certainly would be. Joining Röhrl is Mattias Ekström and watching both drivers put the pace in the Audi S1 EKS RX Quattro is a treat.
It seems like Röhrl was impressed with the specially prepared Audi S1. The car is tuned to produce 552bhp from a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine and looks glorious throughout the video.
When two racers are seen in action the first question that strikes your mind is “Who was faster?” While the video doesn’t show who was faster around the track, Röhrl took a few corners better than Ekström and that was acknowledged by him as well.
