The Dubai Police car fleet is definitely the envy of cops everywhere around the world. Not only that, motoring enthusiasts are also in line to gawk at the superwheels the Dubai Police flaunts. It is after all in keeping with the image of the Arab countries as fast and flashy car-loving people.
While we have written previously about Arab car-lovers modifying their cars, showing them off in London, going drag racing with their supercars and also mentioned about the Dubai police fleet many a times, today, we give you an addition to the Dubai Police car fleet – presenting the newest ride for the deputies - The BMW i8.
For starters let’s give you a ‘small’ list of cars you would find the Dubai law enforcers driving. The Dubai police force has a Bugatti Veyron, Bentley Continental, and a Mercedes SLS AMG all fitted with sirens and lightbars. They also have a slew of other supercars, such as the BMW M6, Ferrari FF, Brabus G-Wagen, Nissan GT-R, Audi R8, an Aventador, a McLaren MP4-12C patrolling the streets. This is not the complete list, mind you. A special mention for the Lexus RC F as well. Now rounding off the brigade is the BMW new electric car the i8.
The BMW i8 is covered in the department’s signature green and white livery, and it is an attention magnet, to say the least. It brings the hybrid power to the limelight, but something tells us that going green was least of their concerns behind adding this car to their fleet.
Well, we needn’t be all that disappointed because India was recently treated to the launch of the BMW i8. So we sure will be seeing it on Indian streets.
You know, I would even maybe consider running a red light or some other minor traffic offence just to be chased by one these beauties on wheels. What about you?
