Slightly tweaking the popular adage, diamonds are a girl’s best friend, a Russian woman has apparently made them her car’s best friend too. The now popular Russian instagrammer, Daria Radionova, showed off a customised Mercedes-Benz CLS 350 covered bumper to bumper in Swarovski crystals. Oh and she also mentioned in a cheeky comment on Instagram, ‘im not an arab guy lol’, alongside the hashtags #blingbling #mercedes #swarovski #crystals #crystalcar #knightsbridge #harrods.
The car has been seen in Knightsbridge, London. The business student spent £20,000 adding one million crystals to the car and said she enjoys driving it around.
The blinged out car caused quite a traffic snarl near The Levin Hotel on Basil Street, near Harrods in Knightsbridge, where it was parked. Passersby stopped to have a closer look at the 155mph car, which is British registered and has a residents’ parking permit.
London streets have often borne the brunt of the super cars and absolutely blinged out vehicles, courtesy the Arabs who often bring their toys along when on a holiday or even for work. They have now being called the invasion of the ‘bling-ionaires’. Residents in affluent Knightsbridge have complained some drivers are allegedly behaving in an anti-social manner, revving the cars and treating the exclusive area as their personal racetrack.
Coming back to our point of interest, the diamond-studded Mercedes CLS 350, we know that it took almost two months for the car to become so shiny. “The people who did it came over from Russia and worked for 12 hours a day for two months on the car. It has also been reported that the woman carries a spare bag of crystals in case some of them fall out. “I wanted to have something unique and do something special,” the 21-year-old business student has been quoted as saying. She says, that when she will sell her car, she will give the money to charity.
Needless, to say, we will soon be seeing some other wealthy bloke now do something more outrageous than this and probably he might be an Arab as it is not often that they get upstaged and that too by a woman.
