What’s better than one tastefully tuned Acura NSX? Two tastefully tuned Acura NSXs!
Anybody familiar with the Japanese sports car scene from the early 90s to mid-2000s has worshiped the Honda (Acura in North America) NSX at several occasions. It’s Just a fact. Now I know there have been several truly great sports cars from Nissan and Toyota (Read: R33, R34 Skyline and JZA80 Supra) during the same era but somehow, none have managed to capture the essence of the enthusiasts the way the NSX has.
In stock form, the NSX is a quintessential Japanese sports car, one with a beautifully balanced mid-engined chassis and low-slung looks to lust for. To imagine not one but two tastefully tuned NSXs, then, is a sight to behold.
In the white corner, there’s this mildly tuned 1998 example with stock engine and reworked suspension and in the black corner, it’s the 1991 model packing a supercharger and a lot of aftermarket bits for the suspension and drivetrain. While the latter apparently is more fun on the track, it’s the 1998 NSX that is more forgiving on the road.
Irrespective of the tune, the NSX is a timeless machine that will only be appreciated by the day. We sincerely hope the forthcoming new NSX carries on the successful legacy.
