A barely driven 1984 Audi Sport Quattro will be auctioned next month. The car has done just 8237km and is believed to from the original lot of 214 cars produced.
What is more impressive is that this American registered car comes with the original tool kit, owner’s manual and optional racing spec belts. The car appears to be in excellent condition and has been serviced by Audi themselves.
Under the hood of what is considered the Ingolstadt based automaker’s most legendary car is a five-cylinder 2.1-litre turbocharged mill that produces 302bhp. Power is sent to all four-wheels via a five-speed manual and the legendary Quattro AWD system. Other features of this machine include fully independent front and rear suspension, anti-roll bars and ventilated disc brakes all around.
The Audi Quattro in rally specification (Note the big Q) was the car that properly introduced four-wheel drive to the explosive world of group B rally racing. It dominated the scene at the hands of legendary drivers like Stig Blomqvist, Hannu Mikola and Walter Rohrl and has now gones into the annals of rally legend as one of the very greats.
This more civilised version is expected to be auctioned on January 16 and is will make its current owner richer by 350,000 USD to 475,000 USD.
