A 2000 horsepower Lamborghini Gallardo recently decided that it needed some extra cooling while attempting to beat its personal half-mile record on an airstrip in Florida.
While it might not seem like a smart idea to run a drag race right next to a water body, the lake was a result of an overnight cloudburst. The twin-turbo Gallardo producing in excess of 2000hp started off pretty good, though as it reached higher speeds, its tail started to wiggle. And once the car veered off to the right and then to the left, there was no getting back on track (quite literally).
A diffuser might have helped the car’s stability, though reports say that the car had knocked it off in a different crash, the previous day. The owner can breathe a sigh of relief as the lake was very shallow and car will survive this encounter, though the bills of the repair might not make him happy. Well, at least the driver didn’t have to worry about the car catching fire. Thank god for small mercies.'
