Exterior - This is probably the area where Sunny loses out to most of the competition - Verna, City,... It doesn't win over them however it's not the ugly duckling either. Looks are decent but not something that'll turn your head. I have the 2015 model with changes in styling - headlamps, indicators on mirrors..

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) - It beats every other car in terms of comfort hands down. I've owned a Verna for couple of years and have used City which one of my friends' drive, nothing comes close to this in comfort or space. I'll start with the music system in features list and for me it's a breeze with USB, AUX, IPOD support and a bluetooth for phone connectivity. The call quality is really good without any drop in performace. The screen works as camera while reversing with lines to help park/reverse. The AC is pretty good on automatic climate control mode (I've rarely used it on manual mode till now), they could have connected AC to the rear blower though. Seats are fabric but comfortable with ample thigh support. What I sorely missed was arm support for long drives.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox - The dci puredrive engine is superb, I've taken the car to extremes and it lives upto the expectations. 1st and 2nd gears don't have enough power but 3rd gear onward car starts to come in shape. I've used the 3rd gear from a speed of around 25 kmph to 90 kmph. If you just want to cruise on a highway you can easily do 120-130 kmph at 2.5k RPM. Any speed above that you'll gear the grunt from engine, I've personally taken it to 170 kmph for couple of seconds max and it did maintain its stability even then. If you have a good 4-6 lane highway then cruising at around 120 is the best speed for this car.

Brakes are pretty decent though it would take some time to get used to them as their response builds up rather than hitting immediately.

Gearbox is something that they probably can work on especially while shifting from 2nd to 3rd the response is pretty poor and it feels super stiff.

Fuel Efficiency - Is one of the plus points, I've got around 16 kmpl in city and 21-22 kmpl on highways with 60% of running in city and 40% on highways.

Ride Quality & Handling - This is the area where this is unmatched, it does not feel super light like other Japanese cars nor it feels heavy like most of the European cars. Nissan has somehow found the sweet spot in terms of handling. There is slight body roll on the car when you corner too quickly but it maintains its shape. Steering is inch perfect, no play nothing. You have to move by certain amount - you steer it at corresponding angle and it works flawlessly. It rides over small potholes without you knowing they existed.

On days I've done 500 kms (to and fro) within 12 hours (4 hours of driving on each side, 4 hours of work) and never felt tired.

Final Words - It is a beautifully assembled car but you can see its true colours only on highways, I personally still feel it might not be the best city car.

Please do not buy nissan sunny car at all as i have worst experience about service and maintenance. last 3 years, i have spent more than 2 lac rs only in maintenance as nissan car is not sold so dealer like ritunissan and nissan co takes and fool customer by charging them heavily when car goes for maintenance. i had one recent experience where my car stop due to shift gear control cable was damaged.. initially by ritunissan mechanic gave me honest reply after checking car that shift gear control cable is broken and it need to be replaced and rs 5000 will be charged. and i got sam in my message but later on they added another 25000 rs by showing technical fault in few other parts which was shocking to me. theya re really fraud. People are requested to be careful. They have extremely poor service and maintenance record unlike suzuki car. still my car in in their work shop since 3 days and another 5 days it will take to arrive parts from chennai factory. There is not even 15% resale value you get. so please stay away from nissan brnad. it is good in foreign country as service center and maintenace is good but india , it is worst.

Exterior LOOKS GREAT IN THIS SEGMENT.Exterior r good its a good looking car as compare to verna, fiesta, dzire & vento.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) COULD BE SLIGHTLY BETTER,BUT OK. SUPER QUALITY, NICE COLOR COMBI, SPECIALLY INNER METALIC RING FOR CONTROLS. BOOT IS SPACIOUS DICKEY OPENIN BY REMOTE, SIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR ON DOOR AUTO FOLD, TELLS AVG/LTR.TEMP.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good. Got 18.4 kmpl on a trip of 1000 kms.A bit notchy while shifting gears.

Ride Quality & Handling Traveled 450 km (Bhubaneswar to Vizag) at a strech without any discomfort.Driver thigh support is good.

Final Words Bought on 17 th Oct in BBSR. Traveled to Vizag on 18 th and back on 19 th. Ride quality is good. Rare leg room is best in its class. Lot of boot space.Average mileage I got for the whole 1000 km distance is 18.4 kmpl, again sounds great. A good car in this segment. Pushbutton start is a nice attraction.

Areas of improvement Lot of outside sounds, needs to be more sound proof. 5th alloy wheel, as it comes with only 4 alloy wheels. Need to increase dealers and service stations all over the country.

      Exterior Everyones looking at you.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) My 6.2 feet friend fell in love with rear space even when the front seat was max backed...my baby could sleep even in the city drive peacefully.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Though not very powerful. Yet very responsive...its not a sport car. But for a family its just more than perfect. Gears a bit notchy but the ratio as claimed in reviews is definitely better than other cars i tried

Drove it on highway for 250 kms entirely on 5th gear.coz at bumps it just glides without jerking. The odometer average was 22 km/l in city for 100 kms it was 14.5 km/l  should i believe it??

Ride Quality & Handling Just awesome, perfect better than fabi, vento, linea and manza.

Final Words Its really worth your money...and this price range u cant ask for more.

Areas of improvement Interiors, but then buy xv for 2.5 lack extra and u can get those..lol

Rear sitting space, boot space, smooth drive, exteriors, fuel economy, breaking powerGear box

      Exterior PREMIUM FEEL.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) LUXURY AT ITS BEST.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox NISSAN ADVANTAGE.

      Ride Quality & Handling COMFORTABLE.

Final Words THE BEST YOU CAN GET.

Areas of improvement ADDING AN HAND TO THE FRONT SEAT WOULD ENHANCE THE COMFORT. After the Micra, the Sunny is probably the most important car for Nissan and its plans for the Indian market for it will compete in a segment where people are particularly finicky about the value they get from the money they spend. So, if the Sunny really has to shine then it must offer space, equipment, reliability, power and economy. But does Nissan’s new Sunny offer all these? AUTO BILD INDIA’s forthcoming issue has the answer to that one.

The 1.5-litre petrol engine generates 99bhp and 134Nm of peak torque. Nissan is also developing a diesel variant.

The 5-speed manual transmission slots in alright but is somewhat notchy.

There’s sufficient grunt even from as low as 1500rpm so that the car is actually easy to drive without needing too many downshifts.

Nissan has extended the V-platform to increase the wheelbase and with it, interior room. The Sunny also has a large boot.

Like the Micra, the Sunny gets keyless entry and engine start/stop function. It shares other bits from the Micra as well, like the circular arrangement of the air con buttons.

ABS, EBD, brake assist and airbags are standard kit, which is a big plus for the Sunny.

The Sunny boasts a cushy and comfortable ride with the suspension ironing out most irregularities the road can throw at it.

      VALUE FOR MONEYVERY MUCH AFFORDABLE

Exterior The car has the classic Japanese design that will attract both men and women. The curves aren't sharp and give a the car a classic look.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) On space itself, the car is way ahead of any of it's competitors. It infact it competes with cars in upper segments when it comes to space. It's loaded with features; however, the look of the interiors was a turn off. The plastic used is doesnt give a very rich feel. Having said that, the car is extremely comfortable, at least for a passenger.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The car is not powerful and cannot generate a lot of torque. However, the performance is excellent in case you plan to drive within the city limits. Gear is smooth.

Ride Quality & Handling The driving experience is good; however, there are much better cars in this segment when it comes to handling. The suspensions and the ground clearance are better when compared to City.

Final Words A perfect buy for a person looking to drive a car that is spacious, but intends to stay within the city.

Areas of improvement The interiors need to be worked on.

Exterior The moment I saw the car, it took me. It was like wow. I liked the looks very well (maybe everybody disagree on this). It is a real head turner on road. Eventhough its a modification of Micra, it never resembles that on the front side. Back design you may feel awkward, but I liked it. Read many bad reviews on its design. It may vary person to person. Boot space is awesome. You get a 3 button key (lock, unlock and boot release).

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

DRIVER SEAT: I am 6'2, and when the driver seat is all pushed back, I had to reach for the pedals. Driver seat is very much comfortable. Nissan has provided the driver seat height adjustment thats doubles the driver comfort. Driver has easy access to Music system and AC panel. Steering is not up to the mark. You have to put a thick steering cover. The audio controls given on the steering is good not best (this is my first car of this type). For accessing rest of the switches like fuel lid unlock, hood unlock etc you have to bent down a little bit.

DASH BOARD: Dashboard is very simple. There is nothing special in it. Dashboard colour is dull and most disappointing thing is that you dont have choice of colour. You have a 2 DIN audio. AC vents, cicular panel which has AC and defogger controls, glove box, Space for airbag and other switches. Glove box provided is small. It can hold only car documents and your mobile phone. Front console has two cup holders and a small portion near the hand break that can hold a mobile phone. One bottle holder on each door which can hold a small bottle.

MUSIC PLAYER: Music player satisfies your needs. Pen drive support is not there and it may raise concerns for many. It has FM Radio, CD and Aux in.

AC: AC is good in its class. It cools the car swiftly. It comes with automatic climate control feature. AC switches in sunny look different. I liked the circular shaped switch panel.

REAR SEAT: Rear seat spacing is simply superb. I could sit so comfortably that my legs didnt even touch the front seat. Rear seat passenger will surely say this is a CAAAR. Nissan has given a blower rather than a rear AC vent. But it does the function well. It cools the rear side well. Rear seat has a centre armrest, which I liked very well. Somebody was saying that head space in the rear is very less. I like to disagree at this point. It is enough to place a 6foot plus person comfortably.

Upholstery is of biege colour. This tends to get dirty. You have no choice for seat cover. If you want one you have to buy. This is only area where Nissan has to improve. At least they could have provided a different colour or a dual tone seat cover.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Gear box is smooth, but not as smooth as its competitors. It has a fairly longer throw. Engine performance is really good. It provides a linear acceleration. It also has a good pick up even on second gear. Engine noise is managable. Some noise enters the cabin when you cross 60 Kmph. Road noise is comparitively higher than other cars in the class. Change of tyres will do the trick, I think. I am getting a mileage of 16-18 in Mumbai city limits. I am yet to take it for a long ride. I will update my review as soon as I experience a long ride.

Ride Quality & Handling You will enjoy riding the Sunny. Its actually owners car. This is not the one for driving enthusiasts. This is a normal car with superior features. The car performs well in bumper to bumper traffic in mumbai. Sunny cruises very well in city traffics too. Wherever you want that adrenaline facor, it delivers.

Final Words Sunny is an awesome car which fits your pocket. Its comfortable, fuel efficient and will prove a good asset in the long run.

Areas of improvement Interior colouring and after sales support.

Now that I have completed about 750 Km in the city, I took a ride to Panvel from ghatkopar, which comes to 60 Km. It was a pleasure driving on that highway. The car responds very well on various speeds. Steering response is good. The main thing is that I had to restrict my speed to 60 Km. So first semi long drive, good response. Average was 17.5 Km [Tank full/Empty method]

Hi every one who are not satisfied with sunny, here are sum facts about the car, first of all this car is a nissan made and very reliable and nissan is very well known in international market. Its funny to doubt the survival of one of the grt companies and its japanese.... enough said.

Next thing is no one can get this much car for such a small price tag. This is absolutely bang for the buck. It has a good engine, best in class space and all the features a sedan should have, just a dissappointment cuz of music player cuz it only supports aux. No bluetooth no usb. No other car have the same features for the same price, true, u hav to shed an extra 75 grand min to go for another option.

Its almost nearing 2 years me driving this car, xv diesel. I can tell you it didnt gave me a single problem, I m from hyderabad and the dealers are way too good. Road side assistance is awesum, service is good and they respond very well. Just becuz of a bad dealer u cant blame such a good car.

This is giving me for my non fuel efficient driving. An economy of overall 18kmpl itll definitely reach upto 20-21 kmpl if driven in economy mode. Its not so powerful but I can say its not under powered too. 85bhp is a decent power, and 1.5 l k9k engine is a good one too.

so sum dumb fellows dont even know abt the background of the company and the features to look for in a decent family car, no one will ever regret buying sunny. You'll get the value for each  and every buck u shed.

FYI... The drawbacks of this car are its music player though the speakers sound good, and not many people like the looks, I m one of them.

      peace.
