There have been reports about Honda building a middle-weight sportscar time and again. Patent images depicting a NSX-like design were leaked last year and now that Honda has trademarked ‘ZSX’, in Europe, the rumour mills about a baby NSX have gained credible momentum.
According to Performance Drive, an unnamed source within Honda has claimed that the ZSX is almost ready and might be revealed as early as 2017. Said to be powered by the same 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine from the Civic Type R, it will deliver more than 300bhp of power and 400Nm of torque. It might also be offered as a coupe as well as a convertible hardtop.
The ZSX might also get a hybrid all-wheel-drive powertrain with electric motors running in tandem with the internal combustion engine. Honda has not yet replaced the much loved S200 since it went out of production in 2009 and the ZSX might be its ideal replacement in essence.
