Bentley has launched the more ‘affordable’ V8 powered Bentayga in India at Rs 3.78 crores. There’s a diesel and a petrol variant and both come loaded with as many luxuries as can be fitted into a car with a price tag of over three crores. And there´s also the quirkiness that has defined the modern Bentley design philosophy. We’ve had the car here for a while already in the V12 guise and here is why you should also look at the V8 powered models.
What’s good about it?
Well it’s a Bentley, a name synonymous with crazy amounts of luxury, speed and comfort and that’s precisely what the Bentayga is. It’s everything that you want in a luxury limo but with the ability to go anywhere, anytime and at good speed too. The petrol engine is good, because it’s fast and powerful while the diesel has a hyper car rivalling and tyre melting 900Nm of torque – that´s probably enough to generate electricity for a small town if one attempts a burnout!
What’s not so good?
Bentley’s are luxury cars that are a bit subtle and under the radar. The Bentayga, be it a V8, V12 or even the diesel, is loud, colourful and definitely makes a presence wherever it goes. Honestly, that’s not such a bad thing if you are forking out the equivalent of a 2BHK flat in a high-end section of Mumbai city.
