- Launched in India at Rs. 17.49 lakh
- Curvv ICE to arrive on 2 September
During the launch of the Tata Curvv EV or Curvv.ev, Tata said that its larger aim was to bring price parity between the ICE models and their EV equivalents and a first step to that was the pricing of the Tata Curvv.ev. We had expected the pricing to be in the mid to high 20’s but Tata surprised us with a price range of Rs. 17.49 lakh to Rs. 21.99 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom).
This has put it in the middle of several ICE vehicles and here is a complete list of what you can buy for each variant of the Tata Curvv EV.
Tata Curvv EV 45kWh Creative (Rs. 17.49 lakh)
This is the entry-level version of the electric SUV and has a price of Rs. 17.49 lakh. For the cost of this model, you can have the MG Hector Select 1.5 MT, Hector Plus Style diesel, Tata Harrier Pure (O), and the Tata Safari Pure. Like the Curvv, most of what you see here are the lower-spec versions of the cars, whereas their USP is a big car for premium small car money.
Tata Curvv EV 45kWh Accomplished (Rs. 18.49 lakh)
In the pricing bracket of the 45kWh Accomplished variant, you can have the MG Hector Smart Pro petrol MT, MG Hector Plus Select petrol MT, Hyundai Alcazar Platinum diesel seven-seater, and the Tata Harrier Pure Plus.
Tata Curvv 45kWh Accomplished+ S and 55kWh Accomplished (Rs 19.25 lakh and Rs 19.29 lakh)
This is the first model with a sunroof as a feature and for its price, you can have the Hyundai Alcazar Prestige (O) diesel AT and the Tata Safari Pure Plus MT. However, add another Rs. 4,000 and you get to move into the next battery segment of 55kWh, where the range goes from 502km to 585km. However, it’s a lower-spec variant for the electric SUV.
Tata Curvv 55kWh Accomplished+ S (Rs. 19.99 lakh)
We now move into the higher-spec battery. In this case, it's all the features of the Accomplished variant but with a sunroof as a part of the deal. Surprisingly, there are quite a few rivals to take on this version of the Curvv EV. Firstly, the MG ZS EV finally shows itself and you can have it in the Excite Pro variant. Moving on, you can have the MG Hector in either the Smart Pro diesel, Sharp petrol MT, or the Smart Pro diesel priced the same. The Hyundai Alcazar is available in the Platinum (O) six-seat petrol DCT or the Platinum seven-seat diesel MT. Finally, you also get the Tata Harrier Pure Plus S Dark.
Tata Curvv 55kWh Empowered+ (Rs. 21.25 lakh)
We have now reached the top of the Tata Curvv EV variant pile and for its price, you can have the MG Hector 100 Year Edition petrol MT, Hyundai Alcazar Signature (O) diesel AT seven-seater, and the Tata Harrier Pure Plus S Dark AT.
Tata Curvv EV 55kWh Empowered+ A (Rs. 21.99 lakh)
This is the most expensive version of the Tata Curvv EV that you can buy. In addition to the features of the Empowered+ variant, you get Level 2 ADAS and for this, there is a price premium of Rs. 74,000. For its price, you can have the MG Hector Sharp Pro Blackstorm and the MG Hector Plus 100 Year Edition petrol MT.
Observations
Here, we can see that the MG Hector has the most number of variants when you compare it to the Curvv EV.
With a difference of Rs. 4.5 lakh between the base and high-spec variants, these prices are introductory and expected to increase by the end of the year.
The 55kWh battery pack has better offerings as compared to the 45kWh battery pack, which is only there for the lower versions.
The Rs. 74,000 premium for the ADAS for the Empowered+ A variant is a reasonable jump for the assistance systems.
Our pick would be the top-spec Empowered+ variant as it has all the bells and whistles offered with the Curvv EV and there are a lot of them!
